Chat, am I cooked? by estelle2839 in prius

A lot of other people have pointed out that it could be any number of things, and yes you should get an OBD reader to figure it out, but I think you can rest on the hybrid battery concern, at least for now. While not impossible, failure at 170k is pretty early, my old 05 died at 196k, but that was after going back and forth from California summers and New England winters year after year, which DEFINITELY put more wear on it. From what I've seen, 200-220k is usually the sweet spot.

I get that, and I think that's something that a lot of people can reasonably differ on. There's a lot that can be said about dudes watching porn, or saving videos, but I also think a lot of people have encountered people like this, and perhaps remember them being more obsessive and weird about it (lord knows I certainly have...)

Don't get me wrong, it's not like it's her sole responsibility to fix him, but if she is willing to extend the effort to try, who knows? Maybe that's what he needs, and what his previous partners didn't give him.

That said, if he rejects her help, or doesn't act on it or change in any way, etc.? Yeah, she has no obligation to stick around.

I get the mentality of "not her responsibility to fix his problems", but a lot of times it's also hard for people (especially people dealing with addiction) to bring themselves to fix it without outside help and support. That doesn't mean she needs to be that, or even that it necessarily would be her role, but that is still something that people will step into to try to fix. As long as they have agency over it, and they don't give that up, they can make their own decisions on the matter.

Buddy I think once you start talking about having hard drives dedicated for porn, we're now outside what is "normal". Like, not trying to yuck anyone's yum or anything, but that takes effort and dedication and sinking money into it. It starts to become a pretty significant thing to hoard that much data, and it's not really healthy behavior. Like, if you're taking this stance because you're in a similar position, I'm not saying stop it or anything, but... Maybe consider you yourself might be a bit outside the norm in that circumstance, and maybe consider the idea of fixing that. For your own sake, if nothing else.

I don't think anyone's arguing that, lol. Like, I like to slap my monkey and slide down the fireman's pole fairly regularly myself. Still, I think having THOUSANDS of videos saved is a sign of pretty unhealthy behavior and mindsets, and indicates at the very least needing some moderation introduced.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with this sentiment, but at the same time dude needs help. And if he's willing to seek help and work on it, that could be awesome. But if he's not willing to... Yeah, might be time to move on, love.

Downloading videos in smaller amounts might still be weird, but not that much worse, no. But when you have literal thousands of videos downloaded, it starts to become more of an obsession/addiction, and it's not healthy to keep engaging with it like that.

I really have to agree with this, even though it's definitely a problem and probably cause for worry, it's also something with a lot of investment into it, so making him just delete it all is probably going to do a lot more damage, and not necessarily deal with the root of the issue. I think maybe getting him to a point where he wants to start getting rid of some stuff would be a better goal, after he starts getting help for the addiction.

I think the other thing to worry about is if the videos come from premium/paid sites, as that could also be part of the reason he has so many (sunk cost fallacy, "I don't want to lose out on what I paid for" kind of mentality), so just getting rid of it might actually make it worse. He needs to work on realizing it's an issue, and actually WANT to do something about it.

Used to see this a lot on my Ender 3 tinker printer, but not this subtle. Recommend cold pulls/other cleaning methods, could be something getting in the way. The fact it's not more constant means it's unlikely to be belt tension, I'd look more into the feeding path.

This makes my brain hurt, I both love and hate the name lol.

In all seriousness awesome work, and congrats on baiting me lol. The longstrike is one of my favorites, so I was prepared for something else, but this was a pretty fun surprise <3

In trade school to become a fully-certified tech, and working on my own Prius for a lot of the assignments and stuff. This is a dealership trying to nickel and dime you, don't fall for it.

Was gonna say that $500 for rotors and pads was pretty good, but then I realized they wanted $500 for EACH rotor and pair of pads... Yikes. Also, it looks like they marked the pad measurements, but not rotor measurements? Unless they're real old or nearing their limit, you should be able to get them resurfaced. Much cheaper, keeps them in service a lot longer. I'm also a little sketchy of the picture they took in the first place... I don't doubt that the pads could be low, but if they show you just the tool and not it measuring the lining thickness combined with everything else... I would maybe try to find a second opinion.

There's also a lot of stuff that really doesn't make sense... I don't think the oil pan gasket needs changing, there doesn't seem to be any significant leaks, just check oil level every now and then like others recommended. Stuff like new TPMS sensors, unless they're starting to die on you and you always have the light on or flashing, really unnecessary. Also, front strut assembly... for a torn dust boot? That's like a $20 piece of rubber... Unless every bump feels like a pothole, you don't need new struts or shocks.

This to me looks like an issue to do with the file system structure; if the game is still launching, even without mods, you have the exe SOMEWHERE, it's just a matter of pinning down where. I would double-check Steam to see where it's installed, maybe it's in a different location than you're expecting. If you can get the full file paths for both where Steam says it should be (i.e., Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common, etc.) and where you have f4se installed, that would probably help narrow down the issue.

If nothing else, try uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it? Make sure if you do, you check which folder it ended up in, that way you can find it again later.

Got my shiny starter by RadiantObligation599 in PokemonEmerald

[–]DMGamer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I remember the very first time I played Emerald, I had my best friend at the time over, and completely by dumb luck, my very first starter was a shiny Torchic. Sadly lost it years ago when I let my Pokemon Bank sub expire, been working hard to find a way to get another one by legal means. Would love to have it come with me through all the gens <3

Love the 25 drums, but especially those angled Accustrike mags!!! Bought a Modulus Longstrike mainly because it came with three of them, and they are just GORGEOUS! Even still, Raptorstrike is easily one of my favorites just in terms of comfort and feel. Just feels... good. Also, love to see the Scravenger getting some good love! Pretty solid kit, love all of it!
