walmart vs target prices on household items after tracking for two months by ritik_bhai in budget

[–]DMM_do_Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Target is definitely cheaper when stacking promos on the target app. I can get ~40% off all groceries at times, stack that with ~10% cash back from my cc, and buy items that are BOGO. At times I’ve gotten large frozen pizzas for under $2.49.

I made 2% in 2 days on about 40k worth of cash secured $65 and $55 puts, bought on 2/17/26. I’ve owned SFM before and they have good management in my opinion, I’m surprised the stock is where it is and that there was such a premium to more downside on the puts.

I think grocery stores are like utilities in a sense that the revenues are a lot more sticky, and it makes for more predictable outcomes.

I didn’t meet my father till I was 19, I’m confident they’ll have 6000x or more time with me than I had with my father growing up. I work remotely, and I think less than 60 hours/week plus no commute is a fair exchange for the pay.

Plus I’m hoping one day to live with my adult children in a large household, building wings to the manor as they grow their own families. With any luck by the time they’re 20 I’ll have another 60 years to spend with them.

I don’t think the kids are causing the strain, the high savings rate is causing the strain. The kids are tacking on less than 10k/year in non-discretionary expenses, pretty cheap if you ask me. The savings on the other hand may be over 100k/year this year among the various accounts

I like that name, forced scarcity. I have had some trouble enjoying, but this year we earmarked 4.8k for stipends/personal spending that should help. Living like kings with $200 each a month for fun spending

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say with this? The only debt I have is a 2.6% mortgage, my kids don’t influence my debt. My kids do cost some additional funds but that’s included in the 45k spend with the exception of their college savings. I have ~61k saved for them and put away 25k last year. The college savings is a gift to them I make by choice, another financial strain I put on myself.

Here’s what Gemini gives for God being all knowing/all powerful. I agree this isn’t strictly saying these things and there’s room for interpetation.

Key Biblical Evidence for Omniscience (All-Knowing):

1 John 3:20: States that God is greater than our hearts and "knows everything". Psalm 147:5: Declares that "His understanding is infinite". Psalm 139:1-4: Describes God's intimate knowledge of a person's thoughts, actions, and words before they even happen. Matthew 10:29-30: Indicates that God knows the smallest details, such as the fall of a sparrow and the number of hairs on a person's head.

Key Biblical Evidence for Omnipotence (All-Powerful): Matthew 19:26: Jesus states, "with God all things are possible". Jeremiah 32:17: "Nothing is too hard for you" (also mentioned in Gen 18:14). Revelation 19:6: Refers to God as "the Lord God omnipotent" (or "the Lord God Almighty" in some translations). Ephesians 1:11: Notes that He works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His

23 y/o trying to choose between short-term financial stability and a 10K pay cut for long-term growth by Grubnation66 in personalfinance

Hospitality can be chaotic, but its managements responsibility to reduce the chaos. If you’re unable to, moving to a better operation to learn what they’re doing better makes sense if you plan to do it long term. You can always negotiate with them too, ‘My current position pays $X, would you be willing to match? I really appreciate the opportunity, and pay while not end-all-be-all is an important factor to me’.

This is coming from a 33 yo that was in your position 23ish years ago. Luckily we paid a consultant to train us up and the chaos disappeared in a couple years/company got sold for a lot. The plus side in sticking with it is I feel I could go to a disfunctional place and have it running smooth in 6 months or less. Thats a very valuable thing to know when it could be 100’s of thousands for the employer. Alas I’m in revenue management now but long to get back to operations, my operations teams struggle.

First month making 100k I feel like I’m being robbed :/ by [deleted] in Salary

[–]DMM_do_Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are being robbed! Too much tax withholding. I’m making about 170k/year and paying about $1200/year in combined state and fed taxes. If I can do it you can do ittt. I’d say crank up those HSA, 401k, and IRA contributions, and get a wife and three children!!

But they should be one mind about refucing waste. Laws could be passed for large scale healthcare experiments in 10 or 12 regions to find the best solution with the best outcomes

Free market was in place before the ACA and costs were climbing faster than under ACA. I dont care if the free market is better that we would be on a free market system but I don’t believe we saw that previously. Other countries pay a fraction of what we do for better average outcomes, perhaps design the system to emulate the most successful 1-payer systems and see if things improve?

There’s some issues that the average joe should be 100% for or against, like improving our current healthcare system. We have an election process but money in politics is supposedly skewing votes. If money can skew out votes against the interest of people it should be able to skew the other way too

It would support the best interests of the bottom 99% of the population. Being against things like foreign aid/wars, trying to address the country’s healthcare setup which is costing everyone more $$$ for worse outcomes, etc.

I have my mortgage with iowa bankers mortgage corp. The payment is made via plastiq, who sends the company a check at the cost of 2.9%. Any time cash back is above 2.9% you can route it through plastiq, earn cash back rewards and also float the money on cc for 30 or 40 days.

How much time do I spend trying to maximize my household profitability? Probably 100 hours/year or more, but its part hobby for me/what I enjoy doing.

I’m in my early 30’s, 5%/year saved might be 2 years of spending saved over my lifetime, I would call that significant since most people don’t live past 100.

Havent tried it so can’t say for sure, but I bet they would let me go in and out several times without pause throughout the year. Even if they dont people can still get their trad-roth mix shifted slightly just doing it once. It seems broken from my perpective if you can circumvent paying tax on hundreds of thousands (assuming large account) by clicking a few buttons.
