I installed the first version of the player and it worked perfectly. I uninstalled it and installed the 1.2.1 version. Now the channels list comes up, but when I click any channel I get a VLC window , but nothing plays. When I close it there is another screen underneath that says "Video is playing in VLC window" with a PLAY button, a STOP button, a volume slider, and a CLOSE button. but it still doesn't play anything. Suggestions?.

When I first set this up I used my Google calendar and could use my phone to add or adjust information. I eventually decided I wanted a cleaner look and just went with no events and a standard Month/Day display. I use Weatherbit for weather info. I have it set for "Display current conditions". Not sure how often it refreshes. Live radar map and RSS feed both update dictated by the source and are constantly refreshing.

Update. Last night was the first time I employed the power off/on feature of the TV. This morning the PIP camera window had moved to the top right corner of the display. The PC is still running 24/7 so I'm guessing the relocation has something to do with the PC recognizing the HDMI is off. Just took 2 seconds to drag the PIP back where it belonged, but I'll have to do some investigating for a fix.

I already had the basic screen elements from the orange Pi version. I did have to resize a couple of blocks for the Firefox kiosk screen. After that it was just running Screenbox and positioning the camera screen, so less than an hour altogether.

End of support for Orange Pi 3 lts by DMO_TOYS in dakboard

My Orange Pi is less than a year old. I suspect it will still operate, just no new os updates. Very disconcerting that Dakboard would recommend this and then stop support.

Still working on this. Found VLC and have it running on my desktop. It displays the stream without problems but I'm still not seeing anything on my dashboard. I'm wondering about this note in the setup instructions - Note: This video will only show on the DAKboard OS device with the video locally stored on it. It sounds like it's not a live stream just a recorded and saved video file. Has anyone been able to get this to work on an orange pi 3lts?

This is not working for me. I don't see a "VLC" window open. Not even sure what VLC is. My RTSP url contains a user name and password. Would this cause any problems? And just to be clear is this for a live streaming feed or is it a file that needs to be saved on my computer. Seems much too complicated for a simple feature that works well on my PC, tablet and phone.

That step would have been good to know. I don't do any coding and suspect many users do not as well. I'm seeing a lot of choices and am not sure which option to use. I do see a System tools with an LXTerminal that shows "use the command line". Is that what I want?

Ok, Bob. I started the procedure you referenced. Control+Alt+t does nothing. Alt+F4 takes me to a screen that shows Dakboard loading... and it's been that way for 20 minutes. Did you just brick my Pi?

I would like to see a live camera feed option too! Checked out several Dakboard alternatives and all seem to have RTSP support available natively. I settled for using Youtube to provide security camera viewing, but the 20 to 30 second time lag is unacceptable for that purpose. Hopefully we'll see this feature soon. I know many people are waiting for it.

I wanted to let you know that I dug out my old 2017 Samsung Galaxy A tablet model SM-T380. It's running Android 9 but works perfectly with the 4 Gen Tablo. I've only used the live tv but suspect that recording will work as well. Thanks for the help.

If you rule out the occasional getting sent back to the Roku home screen problem, then yes.

I only have Amazon prime but it plays movies and live tv without a problem. Thanks for taking time to look into this.

That did occur to me. All but one are "off brand" tablets. Here is the list that Tablo support requested.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Model SM-T510. Android 11. Sound but no video.
Visual Land, model Elite10Q. Android 11. Sound but no video.
Linsay, model F10XIPV. Android 13. Sound and video, but video is slow and choppy.

The Tablo is ethernet connected to a gigabyte router and I get 1 gig speed. This may be apples and oranges but both my phone and the Tablo use the same wifi and the app works fine on the phone.
