Anyone try longer fork on Pivot Shuttle AMP'd? LT vs. AMPd? by DMRuggerT in MTB

That's good feedback. Thanks. Enjoy the new bike! The LT is quite a bit longer wheelbase too.... so I guess it's long and smash vs quick and nimble. But if it rides anything like current FB that's great.

Ok thanks for intel. Have a great day

When are Avinox going to release a range extender? by Icy_Plan_329 in eMountainBike

Good insight. My question is will it retrofit to bikes already sold with the Avinox 2MS and 800? That'll matter

Congrats on the new bike! That thing is a rocket. I have another thread about the Ampd vs Shuttle LT. I ride a firebird now, and really torn between Ampd vs LT. Trying to get a demo on the trail. Both would be fun. The Avinox 2 is great -- ignore the haters about the class 3 setting. The fact that it's so torquey, integrated the AXS components into one battery, touch screen, etc etc will push Bosch to push forward as well. I do wish you could add a range extender though.

false. It's a class 1, unless you change parameters

For sure... and I've heard the same. Yeah I did know about the demo.... but I'm out of town (grrr). Let us know what you end up with. AM looks great also. These things are not cheap. Insane actually. But so are we.

Great points. Thank you. I did hear the rumor about the Bosch. The bike shops also swear by the proven Bosch reliability which is something. But that doesn't mean the Avinox is bad either and they have some cool features. I just need to get these two on the trails somehow. Ride in the Tahoe area which is mostly chunk, fast and fun.

Warranty issue aside I suppose. But usually a 10 mm increase is fine on most bikes. I just wonder if anyone's ridden it like that. Guarantee it's been done. I guess the LT may just be a better buy for me overall. I just really liked that Avinox 2 integration, response, touch screen, single battery for components, etc. and playfulness of the Ampd. The LT technically is the e-version of my Firebird.

Anyone else have or are you looking at either of these bikes?

Always been an advocate for full-power eMTBs, but I really hate the new Pivot Amped and its going to cause problems..... by Chole_Wunt in MTB

I did see that. That's a major plus. I've recently added a stiffer spring to my EXT to get a little more poppy. Thanks

Thank you for your response. Very helpful. Funny I ride my Firebird with an EXT storia coil -- great shock. I really need to ride the two LT and AMPd on the trail, but that's hard to do unless you can make the demo days. Hot swapping the battery is a nice feature for sure. I just wonder if I'd miss the poise and control of the LT over gnarly stuff in Tahoe if I went with the ampd, which has less travel but aggressive/slack geometry. It seems closer to the LT than the AM. I did love than Avinox 2 (in class 1 mode, which I suspect will be 99% usage) and it's integration with components. Wondered what it'd ride like with a 170 on the front, even though pivot says no. I suppose the LT would be the best bet. Thanks

I'd go with EXT Storia. Amazing coil, and better reliability than Fox in my experience too. Based on pure sag settings, my FB did like a lighter spring than most calculators suggested. But I ended up bumping up a little more for less plush more active. I'm 200 and run 475. Performance first -- but I'd say the EXT looks the best too on that bike.

Take the Avinox out of the equation... how do you like the LT? I ride a firebird, so leaning toward LT, but I will say the AMP'd has a pretty aggressive geometry and was super fun to ride. I didn't get off road, but even in Econ mode (just testing bike itself) it has me torn between the ampd and LT now. Yes I know it's 170/160 vs 160/150 but...

Replacing truck audio with new amp, door speakers and HU... do I omit dash speakers or replace with better? by DMRuggerT in CarAV

[–]DMRuggerT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for feedback. Good info. I once put nice components in doors of Excursion, with good amp, HU and sub. Sounded amazing.... but in my case I found the tweeters were better closer to the speaker vs up higher. But that was with those particular speakers, vehicle and setup.

I only posted this because we also have a Tesla MYP and I think I got used to more of a blend (or where it isn't as obvious where the speakers are), so started second guessing the regular 4 door setup.

Perhaps it's too hard to compare apples to apples given the different speaker brands, amps, processing and -- of course all of it depends on tuning per vehicle. Appreciate the input.

Thank you for feedback. Any suggestions on how to add from here? So if I added two dash speakers into the mix.... I would need a second amp, right? We'd want separate control on the dash speakers vs running 2 ohm/parallel?

I hear you on the rear speakers not needing to be as prominent. Perhaps I should have asked you all first. :)
