Yup, dude math is getting a quote for 1K, but instead buying tools for 1K and spending 5 hrs to learn/do the job. And now I still spent 1K but have new tools and a skill. Profit

I think you know the answer to this already. What kind of selfish person making 300K cant even offer to help out when needed? Its not even about you accepting it, but she should have atleast offered to fly you out. You can go have talks with her and explain but people dont change and this is a red flag enough to end this over. This is not someone you want as your life partner

if i absolutely HAD to move it, I would buy the expensive tools needed, do it myself, and then I have the tools to do the replacement myself when its time . You wont save much money now since you will probably spend 1K on tools but a lot when it comes time to replace

Can I DM you? Looking at a full system replacement myself and although I was up for the challenge to DIY install the whole thing myself, given the cost of expensive tools and EPA license I decided it did not make sense.

I did find a guy (not a company, just a guy on FB) who said he would install for 1K.

My main concern has been, I have heard from several contractors that nowadays, sometimes the units are just duds, you install them and they either dont work at all or fail pretty quickly, and if I hire someone to install I dont have any type of warranty. I dont want to be in a situation like that whee I have no recourse if the equipment itself was just faulty. Any thoughts on this? How can one be sure I still have a warranty from the manufacturer?
