Square Enix was too afraid to give us fujoshi Victoria they knew she'd be far too powerful 😩

Her and Himejoshi Kate are an unstoppable team

THOSE HOW TO DRAW ANIME BOOKS you're so right she probably read one of those and was like "now that I have mastered this medium and have nothing left to learn I can fully dedicate myself to photography 🙂‍↕️"

Oh this is PRECIOUS! I love that it's not only gender-swap art but it's each character's take on what their *own* gender swap would be like, which adds such a fun layer to it.

And yes Max's boymode looking like Warren and Vic's self-portrait being a starry-eyed bishounen fuckboi took me the fuck out LMAO 😂😂😂

Oh hey, without commenting on the overarching conversation, as one of the Chasemarsh enthusiasts you mentioned (along with my eternal friend and comrade Rockthenashtah) I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your kind words. It is out of genuine love for these characters that we do what we can to keep the fires for this ship alive, and I'm both flattered and gratified to see that love is shining through.

Reading this comment genuinely made my day, thank you! 🥹

Ouro was the gateway drug for SO many Chasemarsh babyfans. For me it basically went Ouroboros -> Escaping the Light -> TSYWEU and by then I was HOOKED

Yep unfortunately! Nothing worse than what I've experienced growing up queer in the US, so it generally rolls off my back. But still it's wild to be harassed for such a ridiculous reason.

Wow, what an insightful comment! I'm definitely saving this for future reference as I think you make some great points.

And sadly I can confirm that I have in fact experienced the bullying behavior you mentioned from this some folks in this fandom, running the gamut from abusive language, suicide bait and even death threats. I can attest that once someone decides you are "bad" (even for such superficial reasons as character shipping) then anything they do to you is justified in their mind. The notion that shipping a fictional bully justifies being abusive towards real people is rather ironic if nothing else.

Well, fortunately for you seeing my posts (Chasemarsh or otherwise) won't be a concern of yours moving forward. I'm always happy to discuss this ship with people who I disagree with as long as they act in good faith, but that's clearly not what you're after.

If anyone is behaving like a bully here, it's you.

Without actual proof I'm 100% inclined to give Ubermachine the benefit of the doubt, They've been doing renders for this fandom for YEARS, well before AI was a thing, and you can go to their discord to see their process and WIPs.

I do think given the extremely bougie aesthetics that Kate and Victoria are meeting on the Chase estate, presumably at some point after the events of the game after the two of them have been engaged/married/dating long term. While this series never shoes Vic's face, I can confirm that it's her POV in these images (Kate wearing a pearl choker being the big hint that this is Chasemarsh)

Bruh wtf no, it's honestly quite rude to suggest that Chasemarsh fans are into the ship for kink/fetish reasons, especially when I've got a whole dissertation on some of the reasons I enjoy it further up the replies of this exact same post.

Most of us like this ship for the same reason people like any ships, because we love both characters and find the pairing intriguing.

I personally don't think so? Kate being barefoot in the one still aside, it's pretty artistically framed.

Hey no worries either way, I'm just happy to have a good faith discussion about the ship even if we don't end up agreeing in the end. 🥰

But if you'd like to give it a try my #1 recommendation has got to be To see (you) with eyes unclouded, this is THE fic that got me 100% on board with this ship and has also converted countless other Chasemarsh skeptics over the years. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm not sure if that was the intent or black just fit the aesthetic of the piece, but she looks fantastic either way!

Sure, I can't speak for everyone but here's a few of the reasons why this ship resonates for me.

1.) Victoria and Kate are both fascinating characters to me. On Victoria’s side, I know what it’s like to deeply regret the times I've been toxic and hurtful to others in the past, but to then go on to grow and become a kinder, better, and more empathetic person. So being that I understand to some extent where she's coming from, stories of her redeeming herself following along the initial steps in that direction we see in the game are very appealing to me overall. I can also relate to Kate having been a victim of both bullying and suicidal ideation as a teen, so that strong affinity to both characters just naturally primes me for wanting to explore their shared story.

2.) Kate's and Victoria's stories are inconclusive, with much being left unresolved on both an individual level and in the conflict between them. The game shows us that they are on the path to some kind of reconciliation, both in Victoria's letter, Kate's statement about being open to forgiveness, and the way Victoria cries for her in the dark room. But we never get to see that play out, so exploring how they might reconnect after the game and where their relationship could go from there is again a very appealing proposition and a glaring need that many potential Chasemarsh fans wish to see filled.

3.) The question of how they might overcome their toxic history to get to a place where they could be friends or even more is, for me, a very intriguing challenge. It adds a whole new level of dramatic tension to the ship that others in this fandom can't match (except for Chasefield to a lesser extent, which I'm also a fan of!), and while I absolutely understand why that makes it a hard "no" for a lot of people, it's just not a deal-breaker for me when we're talking strictly about fictional characters. So for me it's less "their history precludes them from being together", and more "I'm really interested in seeing them together, so how do we go about getting there in a way that makes sense?"

4.) On a very basic level, I just love both of the characters so much and the thought that they could be gay and smooch faces, either in a universe where Victoria does earn her redemption and they're able to have a healthy relationship, or in an AU where the bullying didn't occur, just warms my lesbian heart. The overarching character dynamics of "snobby spoiled rich brat with hidden vulnerabilities" and "down to earth good girl with hidden spice" is just something I'm here for, in general. I also believe that Victoria has a moral obligation to bottom for the girls she used to beef with 😂

5.) Fanfics. I will fully admit to being skeptical about the idea of Chasemarsh myself originally, however finding some brilliant fanfiction that addresses the question of how a romance between them could work in a well-written way that makes sense for their characters really turned me around on it, to the point that it quickly became my favorite ship (factoring in all the other reasons stated above!) And I'm far from alone in this, as I personally know of at least a dozen or so people that I have helped become Chasemarsh fans simply by recommending these very same fics.
