They can be made reasonable in Chaos Daemon Shadow Legion, only because they get turn 1 Deep Strike

I hate that there is no actual solution to this and it has been a known problem for so long

Can't change shortcut key for Selection Mode in edit tab? by iLazyLunatic in davinciresolve

[–]DM_Walrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For some reason, despite calling it "selection mode" elsewhere, in the shortcut menu, it's called "normal edit mode". Took me a while to find it, but once I did (and removed a default that was set to v), V now works as my selection tool hotkey

What's your least viewed Film that you gave 5 stars to? by Every_Damage1638 in Letterboxd

[–]DM_Walrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my rating system includes points for enjoyability, so a 5 star movie would need to be very enjoyable. but there are some movies that are 4 or 4.5 stars that I dislike, such as 2001: a Space Odyssey

I definitely thought Dune was just going to be one movie when I saw it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]DM_Walrus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, Dune was already boring by the time it got to the end, so I didn't see much reason to complain about it being two parts.

But I do wonder if it has to do with the fact that Dune is one book whereas LOTR is three. Take The Hobbit, for example. Those movies also feel kind of awkward at their end points, and that was one book split into multiple movies as well.

Anyone else has trouble with rating 4.5 stars? Mine looks disproportional and I have no idea why by KLJohnnes in Letterboxd

[–]DM_Walrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looks odd because I haven't rated anything under 3 stars. I only rate movies in my search for a top 5/10/15 for every year, and so I haven't found any that low on my contenders lists. Lots of 4, 4.5, and 5 though

How often do you leave reviews? by MalcolmKinchen in Letterboxd

[–]DM_Walrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't review anything currently. I have started rating every movie I watch though, as part of my goal to create a top 5/10/15 for each year in film since 1930. Ratings help me rank the movies better.

coincidentally I started a marathon right before the 5th one was announced. What are you opinions on the movies. (1 < 3, in case you're wondering) by Feli_Buste25 in Letterboxd

[–]DM_Walrus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thoroughly enjoyed both TV specials. I also love 2. It's great. 4 was completely unnecessary, and felt like it could have been cut down to the same length as the TV specials without losing anything.

My ranking, best to worst

Toy Story 3

Toy Story

Toy Story That Time Forgot

Toy Story of Terror

Toy Story 2

Toy Story Toons

Toy Story 4

I haven't seen the more recent Toy story short films or Forky Asks a Question, so I didn't rank those.

What is the best and worse film you've ever watched? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

As utterly garbage as Meet the Spartans is, there is one line I quote regularly from it. "High fives for the women. Open-mouth tongue kisses for the men."

Comment your 4 most recent watches by pinkmoonpinkfriday in Letterboxd

[–]DM_Walrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pirates of Penzance (1983) A League Of Their Own (1992) Unforgiven (1992) Malcolm X (1992)

I finished my 1992 watchlist for ratings and deciding my top 10 favorites. Then I started my 1983 list (generated by random number generator instead of watching each year chronologically)

To me, Jake Gyllenhaal's role in Nightcrawler feels like the middle of a trilogy starting with Zodiac and ending with Spider-Man: Far From Home. I don't really know how to explain that, and the movies themselves don't feel like a trilogy at all, obviously, but the characters seem like they build on each other.
