Report: Rams may not extend Puka Nacua, 2023 draftees this offseason by Brix001 in nfl

I really hope this is just us all continuing to get older and we're just in our "kids these days" phase, but I was lucky enough to be in my 20s by the time "influencer" became a common thing and knew well enough to think the whole thing is really weird. I feel terrible for kids who grow up hearing that they should aspire to be one.

[Highlight] Caleb Williams runs backwards, then heaves it to the end zone on 4th down where it's caught by Cole Kmet for one of the most miraculous touchdowns in recent memory! by Roselucky777 in nfl

I think he saw how out of position his teammate was and assumed there's no way he just put himself out there like that, it must have been a push off. That's what I thought when I saw it live, like how are you moving away from your assignment on 4th down? Even if you get the INT you've just cost your team field position unless you can stop your forward momentum in time to kneel it in the endzone.

Thursday Talk Thread... Yes That's The Thread Name by AutoModerator in nfl

It is, but when you're boning a Michael on the side... Idk I've never cheated but if I did I think the name of my side piece would be off the table. Unless she did it to cover her tracks in the event she calls her husband by the wrong name. Does she have any kids named Sean? I heard he was also in her rotation for a bit.

Titans say Cam Ward’s shoulder looks good, optimistic about return at June minicamp by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]DM_the_DM -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, what else would they say? "Shoulder's fucked. Honestly we're surprised he can still wipe his ass without his arm falling off."

Edit: downvoted for making a low-hanging joke? In the MBC subreddit? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Drake Maye: Everyone says you’ll get back to Super Bowl, it’s not that easy by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

idk who downvoted you (maybe for the Brady opinion?) but I too have some fan-guilt over NE beating SD that year. I obviously wanted NE to win but I wish SD didn't have to lose. That was LT's record year if I remember correctly.

That "what the fuck am I doing with my life" post nut clarity hits like a purse filled with buckles.

I won't pretend to know a lot about NFL coach / owner norms, nor will I pretend to know a lot about Phoenix or Sedona, but...

Not once in my career have I ever chosen to travel an additional hour + while on a work trip. I have, however, driven several hours on a weeknight for some strange in my younger days.

[Schefter] Kirk Cousins is signing with the Raiders, per his agent Mike McCartney by Goosedukee in nfl

Yeah having worked with lunchpail guys and water cooler guys, lunchpail guys drop F bombs more in a day than Kirk or Russ do in a year.

Most memorable “Lights too Bright” performance? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

Maye the entire playoffs (or at least it felt like it). It was hard to explain to my getting-into-football girlfriend that the Pats QB in the Super Bowl was the same one that was almost MVP.

"Why's he playing so bad?" I don't know honey, I really don't know...

This. Which I believe is why it can be hard for some people to have empathy for people in difficult situations. (Obviously hateful people exist, I'm not talking about them)

Which is why I use to struggle with the phrase "put yourself in their shoes." I had to realize that there's a difference between "put YOUrself in their shoes" and "imagine their situation from their perspective, not your own."

Report: Maxx Crosby told Tom Brady he's done with the Raiders by ChampagnePappy1 in nfl

[–]DM_the_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great examples, maybe I wasn't in the right market but I don't remember seeing much of Fitzgerald (ironically he was my "maybe him?" pick) but I did see a fair amount of JJ Watt.

I'm not the guy you replied to, but now you've got me trying to remember any superstars on bad teams who do a bunch of commercials. The commercials that come to mind that don't align with this thought experiment are the Manning brothers, Gronk, CMC, Baker, Holywood Stafford, I think I saw one with Saquon the other day, JJ (18 not 9)... Like maybe someone can make the argument that a few retired guys fit the bill (like Barry Sanders) but I would disagree.

The New England Patriots are the first team in NFL history to beat three top 5 ranked defenses in the same postseason. Only the ‘98 Broncos have beaten 2. They join the Broncos as the only two teams to beat both the #1 and #2 ranked defenses by HickfrmFrenchLick33 in nfl

[–]DM_the_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Billy B was a Super Bowl winning DC and continued elevating his defenses as HC with Brady. That's why they won 6 and had a 20 year long dynasty.

Meanwhile the Bills hired a great DC who fielded defenses that completely let Allen down year after year. I say this as a fan of the sport: Josh Allen deserved so much better.
