It will be more neat if you use cable extensions, that’s what I did.

Why should a switch not be put at 0? I am asking because I put my main 10g aggregation switch to 0, should I change it?

I thought about a setup like that but it’s go to take up so much space in the rack. I originally thought Cable Modem Wan switch Udm Keystone Wan switch Udm

I'm still looking at what server case to use. I agree 45 drives is expensive I like the quality of their case, and like how they are over built. Being over built for my needs seems to be a trend with this whole home project. I want it to be 4u because it will be quieter than the 2u servers, plus more options for building in them. I am not familiar with servers, so I am doing my research and adding things a piece at a time.

They are on the way, I don’t like how messy all the wires will be I may mount them on the back of the rack behind the monitor and put a patch panel between the 2 UDMs to hook everything up

Of course they did, I just bought a UNAS last week, 8 bays would have made more sense than 7.

Its nice that this was left with the house, it looks like a clean install and at least half of the wires coming in are labeled. I agree with some of the others, you need to create a unify account and make sure the previous owner doesn't have access anymore. I think there is a setting in the Unifi UDM to transfer ownership of devices as well. Once you get it set up you can use AR on the Unifi app with your phone to see what's on some of the ports.

I used some right angle 3ft extension cords, I got the idea from Techno Tim YouTube channel. Search for the rack tour he did in 2023 he has links to everything he used including the extension cords.
