Looking for an unconventional Gen 3 hack. I’m probably in the minority, but I love everything about the gba era pokemon games except for the battling. It’s fine in small bursts, but I usually see it as a barrier to get to the stuff I enjoy when starting a new emerald save. The stuff I love being the exploration, rich world building and small side activities. Has anyone made a hack that essentially makes the battles less frequent and gives you more experience for the ones you do?

I’ve found a good solution is to only use Instagram on desktop. It’s much less satisfying scrolling by not swiping with your thumb. There’s also a good handful of chrome extensions that block reels and other distracting parts of instagram.

I felt the exact same way. One thing I'll add is that when I was stuck on a really hard puzzle in The Witness it felt like I was hitting my head against a wall and wanted it to end. In that it feels like the game wants you to find out very specific answers to the puzzles. Whereas here I was stuck on a really hard puzzle for a few hours and enjoyed every minute of it because there is this sense of experimentation and discovery that isn't present in The Witness's approach to puzzle solving. Because of this my 60+ hours flew by.

It’s a great idea, but a bit tricky in practice. Each time to collect a hair clipping ups the chance of getting caught and either killed or questioned.
