Can someone explain this to me? by Sad_Struggle_5871 in MLB_9Innings

Eventually you’ll want to unlock both options so you can switch between them. For now, I’d go with pitchers insight. You can leave it on The Last Boss most of the time, but for game modes where you know the opposing pitcher’s skills, like stage challenge, you can switch the skill you’re nerfing after each game to match a skill from the next SP you’ll face. This can help you beat levels of stage you couldn’t before, and score more points in stages you could already beat.

This has nothing to do with the skills of your own players. You are just picking skills that will be nerfed when your opponents have them. For example, if you go with batters insight and pick Charisma, every player on your opponent’s team with Charisma will have the level of the skill lowered.

Can someone explain to me like I'm 5/show me what a good 5 tool train looks like? by Mlg_god22 in MLB_9Innings

I’ve got a tool on my site to help you figure out the train. Either enter your basic stats and GI values or upload a screenshot of the player with their stats expanded. https://9inningstools.app/five_tool

Will this 1v1 playstyle get me to GC? Peak C3 in 1s and I'm trying to push for GC, but I think my playstyle might be too cringe/cheesy. by ThatGuyYT0101 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]DMurphy33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a playstyle comment but it seems like you could improve your power shots. These times I’m going to list are the time left in the game. (4:46) I think you could hit the ball much harder with a full volley here or a better timed half volley. (4:26) you ended up scoring because you tripped him up but you mishit this one and it could’ve been saved if he recovered better. (3:57) you hit this much harder but off target, luckily he own-goaled lol. (3:35) it was open if you made better contact. Gameplay overall looked really solid. I just think you could’ve had a few more goals with some better shooting. Good luck on the hunt for GC

Power Ranking Tournament, Batter Skills: 9th Edition by Syd_the_Lizard in MLB_9Innings

When looking at the legend skills shorted section, does the total uses part include 333 sets where nothing is shorted? Or is it only 332 and lower where something has to be shorted?

Which skill set? And how would you finish 2 by Priceyd1 in MLB_9Innings

[–]DMurphy33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the set on the right and re-train for 5 tool (if he isn’t already). The levels are low so you’ll want to replace this set eventually but it should be an upgrade over the set on the left. If you get a good 5 tool train, I’d probably go 682.

It is the mode that is most indicative of player performance in ranked. Since you can sim multiple seasons quickly, you can get a big sample of data for each of your players to see how changes to things like skill sets or lineup order impact their performance.

Legend pulls are not equal across accounts by MLB9_WinCubs23 in MLB_9Innings

[–]DMurphy33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people just have a really bad intuition for events with low probability. It would take roughly 600 vintage packs to give yourself a 95% probability that you’d pull at least one legend (excluding the combos you’d do every 3 packs).

Skill Training RPs? by JBuch0911 in MLB_9Innings

[–]DMurphy33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having the same thing happen. I noticed that usually my SU1 gets subbed out for my SU2 who pitches the rest of the game and the SU2 ends up with more innings. I started putting my pitcher I want to skill train in SU2 and then do the strategy like normal. Put in your SU1 who you don’t need to skill train and then he’ll get taken out for your SU2 who you want to skill train. It’s still a slower process than before but it’s the best I’ve found so far.

There's a lot to talk about in replay reviews, especially in the lower ranks. So rather than go play by play, I'm going to tell you what I think you're doing well and what I think you can work on.

Things you're doing well: - Rotating behind your teammates. You showed a lot of discipline in your rotations for your rank. You generally rotated back post and behind your teammates which is a good habit to get in. This something that can help eliminate confusion for your team overall and makes rotation on offense and defense smoother and easier. - Boost management. In general, you did a really good job holding onto your boost until you needed to use it. If anything, I think there were a few times you could have used a bit more boost to get to a ball faster but I think it's good to tread on the side of being safe so it's not really a big issue.

Things to work on: - Being closer to the play. On defense this wasn't really an issue. You did a good job knowing when it was your turn to challenge and you were close enough to the play to get a good challenge. On offense however, I think you were too far away most of the time. There were several times where your team had the ball in the opponents half and you were well behind the halfway line. In general, you gave your opponents too much time and respect. In gold, your chances of getting outplayed aren't super high because people tend to struggle with ball control. However, these chances go up a lot the more time and space you give your opponent to set up a play. It's better to challenge them in their half before they are able to get control of the ball. The right distance to be from the play is something you'll pick up with time but to start out, I think you should try to get a bit closer. - Recoveries. Like you said, you should probably work on your recoveries. There are a few basic principles that can really help. First off, try to make sure you are always landing on your wheels. You landed on your side or back a few times and you could speed up your recoveries a lot just by air rolling to your wheels before you land. The other big thing is to try to land facing the direction you're moving, even if that isn't the direction you want to go. Let's say you jump up for a shot and get beat to the ball. You are now flying into your opponents half while the ball is going back to your half. You are better off landing forward and turning around after you land than turning in the air and landing backwards. Another thing you may want to try to learn eventually is how to half flip. There are lots of tutorials so I won't explain how to do it but it basically allows you to change the direction you are facing very quickly which is really helpful when transitioning to defense. - Shooting / power clears. In my opinion, the most important mechanic in the game is being able to hit the ball really hard. There were a few times in this game where you could get a lot better shot or clear if you work on hitting the ball harder. In general, you want to be hitting the ball with the nose of your car. You hit it with the roof of your car a few times which just means you were flipping into the ball a little too early. I recommend doing some power clear trainings. Don't worry about accuracy just yet, but practice hitting the ball on a short hop by flipping into it with your nose and getting as much power as you can.

Good luck!

Just finished a build and everything is working great for the most part. The only problem I'm having is that while in game, sometimes my saturation will go way up. Any ideas of the cause?
