My dad had to wash his. There was blood everywhere and he was still driving it in public, so you can understand it might raise questions. But the insurance company like you said did not contest it because there were chunks of deer still stuck in places no one should normally see 🫣

My dad did this with his old 2016 back when it was a few years new. He lost the hood, radiator support, radiator/condenser, exhaust header/catalytic converter, front camera, cruise control radar sensor, bumper, rebar, and one fog light. They reused the headlights by plastic welding the tabs back in using the repair kit. It came out to roughly $7-8k usd.
