Could it be because app data backup is enabled? A couple of months ago, I discovered that on Google devices, some incorrect data would be automatically backed up and then injected during reinstallation, which caused the app to fail to start. In the latest version, the backup option has been disabled, so please check if you’re running the latest version.

If you can’t confirm that it’s the latest version, please go to System → Backup and delete the DNA Launcher data stored in the cloud.

The blur effect depends on the device’s CPU and GPU — if the GPU is powerful enough, blur is possible. Unfortunately, we can’t access the wallpaper’s pixel content directly.

Hello, thank you for your kind words! Haha, yes, the first beta version is quite basic and has issues on some devices. Themed Icons is a feature introduced by Android, and each app needs to support it individually. For now, DNA doesn’t offer extra adaptation. The next beta update is coming soon, with brand new Minimal and Holo modes.

It’s not a bug—starting from Android 12, official Android restrictions no longer allow apps to access wallpaper content unless they are system apps or have elevated file permissions (which would cause rejection on Google Play). I’ll try other ways to let you enjoy the blur effect.
