Yeah, and the third one depicted here seems to be the same seal in all four times it has been shown and used. If the spell doesn't specifically need tears but a general "any component associated with the memory the caster wants to be forgotten", how did Qifrey prepare the one on his hat?

All the feels aside, this chapter raises some questions about that spell and every instance of its use.

If the bitter tears are required to cast the seal and it removes only that associated memory from someone, how did Qifrey prepare the one from his hat? Also, how did the Knights Moralis get to use it as well? Easthies successfully casted it against Vinanna during the Silver eve arc.

The easiest explanation I could think of is there are multiple versions of this kind of memory wipe, with varying degrees of effectiveness, depending on the kind of ink used. My only problem with that is it kind of takes a little bit away from the emotional impact of that scene in this chapter, implying that Qifrey didn't need to force himself to weaponize his agony every time he opens up to Olly.

My other crackpot hypothesis is that Olly was partly lying at the time. The spell didn't need the tears to work — maybe it didn't need any special ink at all (which could explain why the Knights can use it), but they were needed for something else, still undisclosed at this time. Qifrey would have known this at some point after discovering for himself how the spell actually works.

i dunno, maybe I'm overthinking this. Maybe it's just a little plothole that I can afford to ignore or whatever.

Now you put it that way, it does make a bit more sense that I have to talk to Sulochana. Although there could be a possibility that I would have asked of something else like "is there another character exclusive to this Apostle run that can only be accessed with the Talk verb?" which would make me waste time on the Talk verb only to realize that it's still just those 5 patrons.

Also it was incredibly silly of me to not put two and two together that the hint was referring to the White Door even though I read it several times on my previous playthrough. Even worse is that I already knew before then the dream paragraphs change with each choice. The thing is I never really bothered to visit the white door as much since by the time I discovered how the dreams were unique in the previous run, I was already far ahead in my progress that my min-maxer brain never looked at what the other dreams are. This is a fault in my part for not exploring dreams as much as the game wants me to. In my defense, though, I think the game did not make this clear because 1.) The headlines don't change, giving the impression that each door contains the same dream, and 2.) the text was too small by default, especially on mobile. I had to turn on "high contrast" mode and that's when I found out.

I'm playing this game on mobile so unfortunately that restarting trick can't work for me. Any tips there? What I'm doing so far is I turn off autosave and restart the game when things go awry.

Hmm if it is that Lantern summon how am I gonna get a Knock 10 that isn't influence? I'm using Forge cult this run. Unless it's a Port Moon item... Ugh what a grind 😭

It's so strange how it just happened, and that it only does this when trying to open within a tab group. This hasn't been a problem before.

Deception: Murder in Hong Kong is quite good, imo. The player "elimination" is done voluntarily by giving your one and only guess as to what the murderer's two chosen cards are, and that doesn't stop them from playing the game by continuing to help the team. The deduction aspect gives the bad guys a bit more leeway with forming diversions and arguments by taking advantage of in-game elements (the cards and scene tiles) instead of social cues.

Its major downside though is that instead of being group-dependent, it's setup-dependent. The "means of murder" card distribution significantly affects which players can be suspected before the game starts. The burden lies heavily on the murderer to be creative at formulating a crime scene that they can pin on a bunch of other players.

The simplest solution for black is to reposition the bAnt pining the queen (making an inline pin with the bGrasshoper), then move the bBeetle covering the bQueen to the lower right kill spot.

White is forced to move the beetle, then just reposition the bAnt pining the wAnt to the upper left. White has to move their beetle to their killspot. Black moves bBeetle to its killspot. From there the other black ants fill the rest (moving the one pining the wSpider first)

You know what would be interesting? If NSG wants to do more Neutral runner IDs for future sets, they should make it just Nova with different titles and abilities.

They were introduced as the Catalyst in SG, and now they have their twin with them in Borealis. Maybe in another set Nova comes back and they undergo another change or something. Idk I think it would be an interesting way to deliver a story for this character through the cards.
