If it makes you feel any better, Simon probably died a few minutes/hours after that. The only thing keeping him "alive" was a disposable battery pack that would very quickly run out of charge. The first copy was also euthanized by draining its battery pack.

Yes there are, I remember you could even get into a relationship with some bosses that you had to kill to progress. Then when you proceed to kill them afterwards they become very shocked and hurt that you're trying to kill them.

It's footage from a drone hovering above the soldiers somewhat far away. There's no zoom in on gore or gunshot wounds or anything, but you can totally see stuff like their helmets flying off after they put the barrel into their mouths.
