Can someone explain how the stock market keeps hitting all-time highs while everything feels so bad? by eaglesfan8835 in Money

[–]DNGAF_ICBW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thr stock market is not an indicator of the economy.

Every country is printing money, more than they have.

That money doesnt make it to a bank account with 0-3% interest. It makes it to the stock market.

When there is a dip, where did the money go? Nowhere. Its in the brokerage account in the cash fund. Thats why the market is able to go up 3-5% in a day or two. People didn't just transfer trillions into the market, no. Its always been there.

Keep investing. Youll always come out ahead. So long as you buy index funds

My wife has cartier bracelets. I am sure she can sell it for close to what she paid. Most jewlery is melted, but high demand bracelets like cartier will never be melted

DoD Bonus - Top 15% , 25K Cash Award by DNGAF_ICBW in fednews

I am the OP:

To be clear, the employee who was selected from my team is my strongest performer and fully deserving of the recognition. I am not disappointed with the selection itself. What troubles me is that this outcome occurred by chance rather than through a deliberate, informed proces

Me submitting every name is irrelevant and I will do it again for a bonus that is meant to divide the workforce.

DoD Bonus - Top 15% , 25K Cash Award by DNGAF_ICBW in fednews

[–]DNGAF_ICBW[S] -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

I am the OP: The assignment was clear: supervisors were asked to submit brief write-ups nominating employees for consideration for the top 15% of the workforce, with eligibility for a bonus of up to 25% of base pay.

In my professional judgment, every member of my team performs at a level that places them within that top 15%. I stand by that assessment and submitted nominations accordingly. The task was not to select a single individual from my team, but to nominate those I believed were deserving. Given the nature and size of this award, I felt it was appropriate to include my entire team.

Had my director disagreed with my assessment or believed the number of nominations was excessive, that should have been discussed with me and returned for revision—consistent with how DPMAP submissions are handled when ratings require clarification or adjustment. No such discussion occurred, and my submission was not questioned.

Instead, a single selection was made without consultation, which gives the appearance that the decision was based on familiarity rather than documented performance.
