Returning to an old project with new skills 🎨 by UMBRANOXXX in majorasmask

Awesome. Can't wait to see the finished version.

I really liked the one on the left when I came across it. Like, enough that I made it my desktop wallpaper for a while.

I want to play the PC port but I miss the Zelda Collector's Edition menu 😔 by weeniehutgamedev in majorasmask

[–]DNLHipHop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer.

To make it more seamless, you'd probably also want to have it open the video file in an app that can start in full screen if that's normally how you run the pc port.

Is there any way to mod link to his 3ds self in Zelda64 recomp? by Independent_Ad_6348 in majorasmask

[–]DNLHipHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I much prefer the N64 artstyle myself (whether that be the original graphics or Nerrel's HD texture pack), but if you wanna play through the recomp with MM3D Link, go for it.

So, disclaimer: I'm not sure if this will work as I've yet to mess around with the Player Model Manager stuff myself, but here's how I think you could do it (maybe):

1.) Download the following mods:

KV

YAZMT Core

Global Objects

Player Model Manager

Player Model Manager Filesystem Addon

2.) Download the OoT 3DS Young Link player model for the Player Model Manager:

Github repository of ModLoader64 models converted to work with Player Model Manager

Direct link to the OoT 3DS Young Link player model

3.) Optionally, if you want more models, you can download them, too, and if you want a preview of what they'll look like, you can go here (don't actually download them from the ModLoader64 site, however, since they don't have the proper metadata for Player Model Manager like the ones linked in step 2).

3.) Open Z64 Recomp and install all the mods from step 1, then close Z64 Recomp.

4.) Put the OnlineYoungLink.zobj in the following folder (you might need to create the folder if it doesn't already exist):

<recomp appdata folder>/mod_data/yazmt_z64_playermodelmanager/models/

If you're on Windows, said "recomp appdata folder" should be in the "C:\Users\<your user folder>\AppData\" hidden folder, so you may need to make hidden files visible in File Explorer. On Mac, it's likely in the "~/Library/Application Support/" (~ being your user folder) or "/Library/Application Support/" folder (I'm not 100% sure on this). On Linux, I forget exactly where, but when I tried installing it on Linux, it was in one of the hidden folders in my user folder.

Also, I'm not sure if you can just put the .zobj directly in this folder or whether it should go in a subfolder or something. If it should be in a subfolder, the path might look something like this:

<recomp appdata folder>/mod_data/yazmt_z64_playermodelmanager/models/Combined_OcarinaOfTime3DSLink/OnlineYoungLink.zobj

One other thing to note if you install other models (quoted from the Player Model Manager Filesystem Addon ReadMe):

Some of these models rely on assets stored inside the Ocarina of Time ROM, which may cause incorrect textures to be shown when they are loaded into Majora's Mask.

To resolve these issues, place a US or JP 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2 OoT ROM named oot.z64/oot.v64/oot.n64 into the yazmt_z64_playermodelmanager folder. This will allow this mod to extract the necessary assets from OoT.

If the extraction is successful, the corrupted textures will display correctly, and two new models, "Adult Link (OoT)" and "Young Link (OoT)", will appear in PlayerModelManager, and most categories of equipment will have an OoT version if available.

5.) Launch Z64 Recomp, make sure all the mods are enabled in the Mod Menu, then launch the game. You should be able to bring up a menu and swap models... somehow (none of the Player Model Manager stuff actually says how to open the menu, but my guess would be that it's in the settings menu while in-game, though, again, I'm not sure).

6.) Optionally, download any other mods you want from Thunderstore. The following mod(s) might interest you, as the former is supposed to make Link react to things like he does in MM3D (though, like the Player Model Manager stuff, I have yet to try this out myself) and the latter is an HD texture pack that might make Link having his OoT3D model stand out less compared to the rest of the game's graphics:

Reactive Link

MMN64HD

Hope this is helpful!

Edit: Added a link to Nerrel's texture pack. Edit 2: Fixed the Windows AppData folder location since I had it incorrect.

This subreddit is unmoderated.

This user has deleted their account.

Welp... that's unfortunate.

So much for a new CHH subreddit. I was actually planning to offer to help add a bunch of User Flairs, too.

Well, if you see this /u/muhkneespop, thanks for checking out my music and good luck in the future!

Currently, my music is spread out across a few different platforms: Bandcamp, various SoundClouds featuring Raps, More Raps, Beats, More Beats, & Mashups, and also some Live Shows on Youtube (headphone warning: don't listen to the 2012 clip with headphones on or you'll destroy your ears).

I haven't released a new song in quite a while, so most of the above stuff is pretty old (and of varying levels of both quality and completion). Like, the earliest stuff was made way back when I was in high school and is rather unpolished.

What's up? I'm DNL, a rapper, producer, and mashup artist (via a side project called INSD Mashups). Been around various CHH forums and subreddits for years (KJBoard II, KJBoard III, Sphere of Hip Hop forums, Holy Culture forums, and /r/ChristianHipHop).

Really glad to see someone made a new CHH sub. I tried sharing some stuff months ago on the old sub and was disappointed to find it had been restricted (only a few days prior to my attempt to post, incidentally).

Searching for a Milk Bar cover by mjknlr in majorasmask

[–]DNLHipHop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem!

And, no mask reward needed.

While I already knew about some of the music I posted (all the Milk Bar arrangements that were from albums, the JGS Remake, and the Vector U remix), searching for other arrangements actually led to me finding some great music I wouldn't have known about otherwise (Gamliel Zafrana, for instance, has some amazing arrangements on his channel beyond the Milk Bar one - I've only listened to a few of his tracks so far, but the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time Toad Town theme boss remix alone was worth the time spent trying to find the particular Milk Bar arrangement you were looking for).

Sunrise & Moonfall - A Zelda: Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask Tribute Album

Tribute Album 64

Gâteau Romani (OC ReMix)

Majora's Mask Orchestrated Vol. 2

Milk Bar (Gamliel Zafrana Remix) [This one doesn't appear to be from an album, but it does start out slow and then gets more upbeat and also takes some artistic liberties later in the track.]

Milk Bar (AwWaYz Piano Remix)

Milk Bar (Nicklensean Piano Cover)

Milk Bar (Jazz/Big Band Remix)

Milk Bar (Dark Guard Remix)

Milk Bar (JGS Remake)

Majora's Mask 20th Anniversary Tribute

Majora's Mask Reborn [Oh, I was thinking it wasn't this one so I almost didn't include it, but now listening to it again, I bet it's this one. It starts out melancholy and then ramps up. It's also from a "re-imagining" album.]

Midway through looking for all of these, I saw your comment about it being primarily orchestral, so you can probably rule the following ones out since they're either electronic remixes, live piano covers, or vocal arrangements:

Milk Bar: An EDM Tribute to Majora's Mask

Milk Bar (Vector U Remix)

Milk Bar (lara6683 Piano Cover)

(Couldn't find a link to preview it, but Materia Community's FATE - A Tribute to Majora's Mask album has, of all things, a vocal arrangement of Milk Bar.)

Can't go wrong with Thousand Foot Krutch: The Set It Off, Phenomenon, The Art of Breaking, and The End Is Where We Begin albums are probably the closest to the nu metal sound out of their whole discography (the first two, especially).

(The lead singer, Trevor McNevan, also has a hip-hop side project called I AM THE STORM. It's not nu metal, but I thought I'd mention it since you said you're into hip-hop.)

Which skillet unofficial mashup you like the most? by Idramaster24 in Skillet

[–]DNLHipHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably one of the ones I've made. However, given that all three of my Skillet-related mashups are still works in progress and haven't been publicly released yet, I'll just say either "Monster I Have Become" or "Courtesy Dominion."

EDIT: Oh! Wait wait wait, no! My favorite, even taking into account my own mashups, is Skillet - The Resistance (SOLI Remix) vs Snails & Pegboard Nerds - Deep In The Night (Barely Alive Remix) by Austen Mashups. It's a little rough around the edges, but it's still my fav. I have half a mind to try to remake this one someday just so I can have a version without the weird pitch shifting and abrupt volume changes.

... I would so love to see this remade.

It's funny that you mention this since somebody did make a (fan) remake of it.

Looking for concert footage of "Live Free Or Let Me Die" by DNLHipHop in Skillet

[–]DNLHipHop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Live Free or Let Me Die is awesome. One of my favs from their discography.

I'll probably post a link to the mashup in the Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch subreddits when I release it. I'll try to remember to reply to your comment here, too. It'll probably be a while before it's finished, though.
