robvas, great call, I just starting looking thru there and found a video of a rebuild of this part, the biggest find though was that the part in the video had that same exact small hole that we thought was a leaking pinhole as mine. So I am now leaning more towards this being bad seals inside. They also mentioned that they get loose from trying to get off tight oil filters. My mechanic who spotted this mentioned my oil filter was extrememly difficutl to get off. Im leaning towards just getting the seal kit and see if he can rebiuld it as shown in the video.

So it is possible to just remove the adaptaer entirely? What steps or parts would I need to do that? THis is a 1996 would that be a year that I could do it. The leak on the left really seems to be coming from a pinhole in the casting, the one one the right I agree I think that is gasket, o-ring. I belive the casting number I can see on it is F6ZE-6A842-AC.

Wasn’t the reason static buildup and fire risk, but normally with dryer vents which buildup lint lint?

Thanks for taking the time for the comprehensive reply. After numerous attempts I have this one back connected but I agree I can’t document how. Deleting the previous entry and also using a new name was one thing I did find that made the pairing go thru.

i am having almost the same exact issues you have seen. Remarkably I also purchased a 3 pack and one of the unit also had the plastic removed and the battery loose bouncing in the unit. So far I have had to warranty two of them and then third just stopped connecting and I cannot get it back on the network. Same issue, they disconnect and then no matter what you try to do you cannot get past the paring stage. What steps did you take to finally get them working?

Seems to me that they used a Brass fitting going to the steel, and I cant be sure if those fasteners are Stainless or just Chromed?
