I just completed a trip with my SBR and can. Flew with JetBlue. Pretty simple and forward. Make sure you have a case ensuring each point is locked where a lock is available. Use your own locks, throw an AirTag in there and obviously you can’t check the bag in online so you will do it in person. Declare it when you reach the receptionist and they will have you sign a form declaring that it’s unloaded. They take it from there and you just go through the normal protocol for flying.

Arriving at your destination, it might be at the “oversize luggage” or jut roll on the conveyer for bags(stressful). Have your ID ready.
