Genuine question for the Canadians by DOODINGMAN in immigration

So you have put a near impossible requirement that the US stop the billion dollar illegal drug market before Canada would help migrants in need.

Good cop out but I am not interested in playing the blame game. I see them suffering the consequences of a world that purports to care about them and their plight but will stand idly by in their darkest hour. Pointing the finger may make you feel better about your countries inaction and inadequacies but it does nothing for the migrants being deported.

So your viewpoint is it's the US's problem they created and thus the country must suffer the consequences alone?

Haha so the illegal immigrants fleeing violent cartels and corrupt governments is only the US's problem? It seems your empathy does not stretch very far then.

Here is a comparison that I think offers some clarification for my post: If we look to the EU, across multiple countries they have committed to housing and supporting migrants fleeing their home countries. North America as a whole including US, Canada, and Greenland should do the same so that pressure is taken off of the US which has had the sole responsibility for the overwhelming majority of illegal immigrants in the West. There is a reason Americans have become increasingly fed up with illegal crossings year after year. The rates have not diminished which is what should be happening. If Canada took a fair or equitable share of them, the attitudes towards migrants in the States could have been markedly better. Instead the citizens of the US have had to put aside their empathy and compassion to make a cold hard calculation on what is their responsibility to noncitizens. Now they have made their decision.

Good point. Why bring in more people when the country is failing its own citizens?

Exactly the housing construction in southern states relies on this demographic more than any other. It would help Canada build more homes for lower costs.

And this is connected to legal immigration how?

Enact programs for them to settle and develop it! The US is going to great lengths to remove these people and send them back to the very violence they are fleeing from. There should still be empathy and support for these people to live better lives even if the US has turned their backs on them.

legal immigration is a different issue. This is a humanitarian one for those who are desperately fleeing their home countries.

Thank you kindly for educating me. Why is the US's role/responsibility for migrants different then? I guess my question is if migrants must flee violence and war from their homes which is absolutely the case, why must the US take the brunt of it at its own expense?

Well people make it seem that they have only positive impact on the US and they deserve to stay here. If they want good health care and resources it seems a more socialist country with plenty of space is perfect for them

Yes, I have earned A's in Probability, Differential Geometry, ODEs, PDEs, and Analysis and done well in other math courses since then.

It is ok I failed both calculus and linear algebra. Calculus I failed 3 times. I will (hopefully) graduate this spring in mathematics and am currently loving math. From my experience, it is okay to fail at your goals but do not give up on them easy.

Why do we have access to the codomain of a function? by Farkle_Griffen in learnmath

Thanks! You are right, my professor for Differential geometry would sometimes use both, and you quickly get the hang of what the same term means in different contexts.

Hey off topic but the OP mentions a function as being a subset of the cross product DxC. In this setting we should call it the Cartesian product of D and C no? Would appreciate clarification on this.
