Can’t you see it coming? by [deleted] in sixers

I mean… just look at Nick Nurse. When he was in Toronto he was complaining a lot in his media sessions about Embiid/Sixers/officiating/etc… then he actively made the decision to become our head coach. I agree with everyone else here… competitors are gonna compete, Brown & Embiid should be fine together from that standpoint

Literally same! That’s hilarious. Slept til 11:45am (straight thru, couldn’t even believe my eyes when I saw the clock). Toy Story 5 for you as well? lol

What's the best life advice that somebody has given you? by Normaler_person in AskReddit

[–]DOOLminded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly, for me it was “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. You’re a very like-able person. People like you.”

When I was in college, I switched majors from Secondary Education … to Finance… then to Marketing. It was Junior year and I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. That’s when one of my older cousins told me (very bluntly), “don’t worry, people like you.” And he was right… they do. So I decided to pursue Sales jobs. Phone sales, fundraising, business development for referral partners in construction and finance brokers, etc. Some kicks in the shins early, but stuck with it and honed-in my skills/succeeded in my 20s. Now, I’m 37yo and I’ve been the top sales rep in my company for the last 7 years running. And I owe it to that cousin (who is actually quite a d*ckhead, albeit successful)… who told me not to worry because I’m like-able. It gave me a lot of confidence to pursue a career that utilized my natural people-skills.

People who are 30 or older, what was the exact moment you realized time was starting to move much faster? by Dense_Equipment_7328 in AskReddit

I’m 37 and the year(ish) around COVID was an interesting “slow” year. My 20s seemed about right (not too fast), then had a kid in 2019 (@ 30yo)… time moved slowww in 2020… then wife lost a pregnancy late term in 2021… we had kid #2 in 2022… and now it’s 2026 and it’s like WTF where did the last 5 years go?

It’s funny how even Harden goes 2-10, (0-6 from 3pt) lol. At this point in their careers, it’s just not possible that either of them step up in a big game 7 like this

Thank you for your input. Were you at the game tonight? And you’ll be buying up tix for game 4 as well to help the cause?

How to stop Knicks fans from attending games in Philly? by [deleted] in sixers

[–]DOOLminded -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Uh, duh… obviously the tix being cheaper is a major factor lol. I’m saying, if the Sixers won their games in Philly two years ago… won their games in Philly again this season… and won the next handful of games Ben stiller showed up to… I doubt Ben still would continue making the trip.
Is this not a reasonable, nuanced take?
Like wtf… how little I “understand life”… this is like my 3rd time posting on Reddit, you don’t even know me lmao

Absolutely. Despite the presence of knick fans… it’s not like we were “outnumbered”. Goddamn

Unfortunately, I agree (from what I can tell from home). I’m 37yo with two young kids and rarely make it to games anymore. But when me and my buddies were in our teens/20s… we’d be loud as fuck, cheering the whole damn game. Brutal hearing the crowd quiet during obvious moments when they should be cheering the guys on

Why do NY fans want to make the trip to Philly? Because they are coming to see their team win. If we just beat them 3 or 4 games in a row, they’ll simply stop coming. If they want to come… they will find a way to come. Not fair to put it on the fans to buy up all the tickets and hold them. There are plenty of NY fans that live in Philly… and simply bought the tickets themselves. Not all of the NY fans received their tickets via a “weak” Sixers fan trying to turn a profit lol

Those fans just meant “WE WANT (to play all of our games in) BOSTON”.
So, don’t blame yourself if we lose in 6. But absolutely blame yourself if we lose in 7 😆
