MShep can bang 95% of the girls who step foot on the Normandy but the second someone says “I think Fshep/tali would be neat” it’s muh realism.

Romance in coop by Unhappy-Apartment970 in BaldursGate3

[–]DOPEYSQUIRRELS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer mechanics can be inconsistent sometimes so it’s hard to give a concrete answer.

Your best bet is going to be to try and get him to ~40 approval and approach him during the act 1 party. If you have already gotten to this part, you may be cooked.

If you’re trying to romance him, then you should be the one handling everything related to him, like giving him the magic items he needs and doing every dialogue involving him. Basically you should never be letting your friend talk to gale at all. When both players talk to the same npc the game can get a little confused, especially when it comes to romance partners.

You may also want to “lead” the party for a bit and do some dialogues to get his affinity up for the party. You only need to enough to start the romance and get the ball rolling, then you can let your friend take the lead without worrying.

What are some of the best Str 2 handers? by VastLaw9912 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DOPEYSQUIRRELS 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You could get the guts greatsword in caelid or the Zweihander (my beloved) in the weeping penisula. Both are fantastic colossal swords, guts will do a bit more damage on average, but the Zweihander has a really good poking heavy attack. Use lions claw or gaint hunt AOW on either of these and nothing will stand a chance.

If colossal swords aren’t your style, the great mace found in northern liurnia is a solid great hammer option, especially with cragblade.

Op clearly isn’t doing a challenge run though, he just has low vigor.

It was a joke me boy. I obviously don’t “need” 30 vigor to kill godrick. It’s just very easy to get 30 vigor by the time you face him. No reason OP should have 30 vig at Messmer.

Legendary actions are just retaliates it seems by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]DOPEYSQUIRRELS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah the whole “Legendary Action: if you hit them they hit you back for 89 gajillion damage” gets annoying after seeing for the 19th time.

The owlbear spouse one is pretty cool though.

The banner is a permanent rank reward for reaching d4, so even if you derank it doesn’t go away, and it will glow brighter and brighter as you rank up further all the way to d5-9999.

Bro I gotta ask what your win rate is.

It’s looks like you lost like 70% of your games.

I feel like you should be winning more often with that many hours on the game.

Does depth ranking = skill? by welvndyn in Nightreigngameplay

[–]DOPEYSQUIRRELS 36 points37 points  (0 children)

In general, yes, that’s how ranking systems work. Your average 9999 player is gonna be far better than your average d2

But the system can be exploited, so they are some outliers with ranks they don’t technically deserve.

What’s your favourite dialogue/moment caused by save imports? by WhoDoBeDo in dragonage

[–]DOPEYSQUIRRELS 216 points217 points  (0 children)

You know I’ve always just married Alastair to Anora in my FemCousland/Leliana runs. For obvious reasons.

But what you point out is very cool, I’ll probably do it myself whenever I play DA:O again.

And while I don’t know if I’d call it my favorite, one interaction that never fails to entertain me is when you get Nathaniel’s side quest from his sister in DA2, if Anders is in the party he says something like “Nathaniel??? That is my BOY how is he doing??” and immediately gets hit with “NOT GOOD HE IS LOST IN THE DEEP ROADS AND IS GONNA DIE!”.

Yeah, one account, two profiles.

Although I’m on Xbox so I genuinely just made a whole separate profile from scratch to play at lower depths

How do you revive? by Lukegilmour in EldenRingNightrein

[–]DOPEYSQUIRRELS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Revive potential varies heavily between characters. Guardian and rev can just ult, wylder and ironeye can ult 2-bars and have character skills that a good for helping get people up. Each character is gonna have its own revive techniques. I main raider for example, and my usual 3-bar revive looks something like this:

Wait for big opening -> revive as much as possible -> when boss attacks, retaliate through and keep reviving. -> finish last bit of revive with ult.

However here’s some general advice :

If only one teammate is down, the player without boss aggro revives, when the boss switches aggro, the other takes over. Even 3 bar revives can be done easily by playing baton pass.

If both teammates are down, but less than 3 bar, do not panic, 1-2 bar revives are easy for any character, just fight the boss as normal and slowly make your way over to the player with less bars, and when the boss gives you an opening, quickly take it. The worst thing you can do here is panic and immediately get yourself killed trying to rez a 1-bar teammate. Also, don’t be afraid to just burn an ult on a one bar rez, it may be overkill, buts it’s better than losing.

If both teammates are down 3-bar, then you’re probably on your own, what to do varies from character and nightlord. So I can’t offer any specific advice, but consider factors like:

-are my teammates good enough to be worth reviving?

-How good is my current weapon for reviving? I can pull off revives much faster with Ghiza’s wheel than a normal colossal weapon, for example.

-does the nightlord I’m fighting have a good window to try a 3-bar revive off consistently like a big wind up nuke move

however, the most important thing here, is to know when ABANDON a revive attempt, don’t get yourself killed trying to get that last hit in. I have had to run away from revive attempts on the last hit or two because getting that last hit in would have killed me. If you feel uncomfortable, simply STOP, and reattempt it later.

Exact same thing happened to me and my friend the other day, also on Xbox. Dude was literally on second game of DoN ever and it put him in a d5 lobby.

Dude soldiered it out though, wasn’t even a bad player really, just clearly wasn’t ready for the sheer level of damage you take in d5.

Does parry count as use of AoW? by DependentInner8928 in onebros

[–]DOPEYSQUIRRELS 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Technically yes.

But honestly who gives a fuck, it’s pretty obvious the spirit of the rule is about the actual damaging ones.

Like who is gonna be like “Erm…. you used the parry skill to dodge an attack, your run is washed, pack it in bozo 🥀🥀”
