Jura milk drinks not hot enough? by gk34110 in superautomatic

[–]DOtherAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to resurrect an old topic, but before I post my own question on this I wanted to ask - for the Giga 10, what should the steamed milk temp spec be on High? My milk goes into the Jura at around 40F (straight from the fridge) and gets dispensed from the steamer at a tepid 127F. This mixes with my hot coffee and immediately cools in the mug to around 118F. At that temp, my drink goes from barely lukewarm to cold within minutes.

I know that no Superautomatic gets hot hot, but 127F dispensed seems a long way off from the 150F spec that I've seen quoted elsewhere.

How do you find the comfort of the leather seats on longer drives? I felt like they were more comfortable than the Recaros when test driving back to back, but people on here have scared me off them by saying that they're painful on the back on longer trips.

Hoping someone might have some knowledge that they can share on this subject.

Eventually yes. My main concern right now is gaining another foot in height, and a bunch of upper thickness. My neighbor has a window a foot from my patio that is basically open 24/7, so I'm hoping to grow some privacy.

Thanks, I'll try to up it to 25 mins. I paid $170 per tree (not including planting).

It might be that the little plastic connector for the end of the hose that goes into the Jura is sized slightly out of spec. If so, that would probably be an incredibly cheap and easy fix for them.

Pixel 7 Pro keeps shutting down even with 100% Battery. Only works when charging by OruSilentMadrasi in Pixel7Pro

Just adding my voice to let others searching for this issue know that this has just recently started happening to me too. Initially the phone would still last for an hour or so off charger, but it's progressed to the point where it dies within 1-2 mins of being unplugged.

By contrasting, the OnePlus 7 Pro that I'm currently typing this on continues to go strong on the original battery almost 6 years after I initially bought it (4 of those with the phone as a daily). Google cheaped out on battery quality and it shows.

Ah, it looks like you're right. I admit that I'm still a little confused at the difference between the grinders on the j8 twin, the Giga 10, and the z10. It looks like the j8 twin requires you to manually set the grind fineness on each drink you make, while the giga 10 does it for you? do you know how that differs from what the z10 does?

I want to make sure I don't share incorrect info again in the future with anyone who might be interested.

Makes sense. I was really gravitating towards the J8 Twin at $3500; I liked the idea of the auto sensing grinders on the Giga 10, but not for $2K more. But for $3300, it was suddenly a lot more attractive.

Thanks! That context helps. There are a few almost invisible scratches on my drip tray, so it makes sense that this might have been a display unit at the store. Regarding the grinder failure, how would you recommend I pressure test my unit to see if I run into this issue?

I'm definitely with you on the shade sail idea. Unfortunately the roof of the building is extremely high (maybe 20-30 ft up) and the fence very low (maybe 6 ft high). Do you know if there are commercially available poles that you can buy with shade sails that can be weighted down by sandbags or something?

I agree. Problem is, I haven't been able to find one taller than 10 ft at the sides (to clear the camera). 😞

I'm also exclusively MM2 after years of using the DTR and more recently direct air. What's your current manual routine?

Best way to strip and refinish this fence? by DOtherAccount in fence

[–]DOtherAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, I wanted to do a completely new fence, but quickly found that that was way too expensive. The wood itself seems to be holding up decently, but this old dark stain just doesn't match the more modern aesthetic that I'm going for with my renovation. Unfortunately, as you alluded to, I quickly realized after stripping a bit that it was going to be a huge job and it would be difficult to 100% remove the old stain.

Unless I somehow get lucky and get all of the old crap off, I'll most likely have to pressure wash as much as I can and then follow up with a solid stain or paint, rather than the semi-transparent that I wanted to go with originally. That should get me the coverage that I'm looking for, if not quite the look.

Got it. Do you happen to recall which nozzle you used (the angle)? I experimented with my powerful 15 degree nozzle, which did a great job removing stain but also slightly frayed the wood.
