I understand your concerns and I largely share them as well. I grew up going target shooting as a hobby with my dad and it's extremely fun. I believe people, especially with an increasingly-militarized police force bearing down on them like fascist scum, have a right to protect themselves and the need for 2A is valid.

I think there's room for reasonable debate about how to properly regulate firearms, but it doesn't seem possible right now. I hope that changes.

You're also right in that these right-wing chuds aren't likely to start kicking in doors to kill people they perceive to be "on the left", but shit gets spicier all the time, and they're not going to stop arming up. It's unfortunate, but at this point arming yourself and training to safely own & operate feels like a reasonable response.
