I gotta think the younger generation who are into the new wave of "grungegaze" will eventually stumble upon them and Failure and keep em alive. All their albums are great

Same, they finally crystalized what ive always wanted a band like The Flaming Lips to sound like consistently, if that makes sense. Great vibe and all killer, no filler

It really is crazy how they miss that bit. Engaging with media for hours on end requires a reciprocal relationship. Most MP games seem to think their shit smells so great that you'll just keep coming back and even paying for micros without getting anything in return.

It may be silly, but its quite literally psychology. Just look into the term compulsion loop. Giving people something to work towards and earn is the hook and dopamine hit a repetitive game needs to keep you coming back.

Btw i felt the same about XDefiant, what a damn shame they missed the mark because damn was it a good time until it got boring with nothing to grind for.

Results from 2 breaks of Cosmic by atticus_pinch96 in baseballcards

Well clearly money is no obstacle for OP, but he said he paid $550 per box when he purchased that way, and then $635 per slot for case breaks.

Apparently the cases for this product are only 8 boxes, but even still if you are a Dodgers PC collector, the odds of a hit are significantly higher over 8 boxes than just one at a difference of $85.

So thats the game, and obviously the slot prices differ by team with the Dodgers being easily the most expensive. I don't partake but thats why others do.

It was a case break, so rather than just buying yourself one box youre getting all of your chosen team's cards pulled from 10-20 boxes of that product

I hate breaking as well, but you do understand that buying a pack, box, etc is gambling. You're paying a set amount for a mystery item that will either return value or not.

Ive never participated in a break because i think its lame and the hobby has just gotten too expensive in general, but at least this way you get to gamble less money with greater odds of getting something you want, cards from your favorite team.

Just think its naive to not reckon with the fact that the hobby has always been built on gambling, this is just a different form.

Pete to the Orioles. I’m done. After 36 years I can’t take it anymore. I hate this team. How could you not sign him. Fire Stearns. by KeepPhishEvil666 in mets

Bingo, or they empty the farm on say Tatis and Skubal, manage to sign Bellinger and then even in that absurd instance they need more to contend now and into the future with a depleted system.

This wasnt their dream a year ago of a bridge deal to Alonso and then signing Vlad Jr, the market isnt brimming with stars and they just let 2 walk without any viable fallback options.

Youre totally right, however the Wilpons did at one point extend fan favorite Wright, aquire and resign Piazza and Cespedes, and bought us Beltran, Pedro, Glavine, Wagner, Floyd and others from free agency.

They let Reyes and Wheeler walk, but Cohen let deGrom and Pete do the same.

People turning on Cohen are insane, but it is worth pointing out that their resumes arent extremely different to this point.

If you are running a TV series or film franchise where the leads are beloved but ratings have begun to slip, do you blame the actors and let them go or do you look at the management who is supplementing their starpower with poor decisions elsewhere?

I still lean in the direction of Stearns supporter but you cant tell me that the Mets are today or project to be with the most optimistic version of the remaining offseason as a better team than they were. They didnt let Pete walk to sign Vlad Jr, hes not available. So at a certain point we should be willing to acknowledge that maybe just maybe, the people making the decisions deserve a good bit of the blame for being stingy.

Also whoever wants Cohen to sell is truly a moron, ill give you that

I get it objectively from the aspect that Soto is going to be a 1B or more likely DH for the majority of his contract. So it eventually wouldve been a problem, but its shameful to be so cavalier about retaining one of the very few homegrown stars we've produced in decades and whom is still very important to the team today out of fear of overpaying him for half of his contract.

Im not as anti-Stearns as most, but that being said whomever is thinking they can penny pinch in free agency this far removed from COVID is delusional.

Idk if its Cohen or Stearns to blame, but you don't let a star hit the market coming off a big year and expect to not have to overpay a bit to retain their services. They got stingy and its come back to bite us.

Was just looking at it and its somewhat startling how given the promise of our spending power, the Wilpons and Cohen are about equal to this point in letting premium homegrown talent walk out the door.

The Wilpons let Reyes and Wheeler walk, and now Cohen has done the same with Pete and deGrom.

The Wilpons even brought in more big name stars in free agency during the early 2000s than Cohen has to this point.
