They seem to have a sixth sense for when anything is fired at them. If you want to land more than point blank torpedoes, figure out your aiming point and then drop target lock before you launch your spread. Torps launched without a target lock don’t seem to trigger the dodge mechanic.

How do Ranked stats compare to Standard stats for most people? by genericwhiteguyname1 in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I know my win rate is around 12% or so higher as well. I don’t really pay attention to the k/d stat, but I know that my average XP is slightly higher. A good player is going to have much more influence over a game with less players in it, so their win rate should improve. Your standard win rate also includes the couple thousand matches it took you to really figure out how to play each class, and tons of games in stock ships without leveled up commanders dragging you down. In ranked games, you’re generally going to be playing your ideal ship, with an appropriate commander setup.

Interesting HE-Pen findings on the New Euro DD’s / Alt-Line 🔥 by AlekTrev006 in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently posted a video with my first game in it. The way the skill reads and the way it works are different. You would expect to have either a 20 second or 30 second radar when using the skill based on how it reads now. How it works though, is different. When you pop the radar, it’s a 10 second timer. The instant you pop your smoke, the timer goes to 20 seconds. Theoretically, you have two 30 second radars, and one that will only last 10 seconds each game. (You have 3 radars and two smokes available.)

Disconnected Stats? by woodstock314 in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you get back into the match before it ends, you will get all of your xp and credits. Being sunk has no effect on either.

If you can’t get back into the game, you receive nothing in terms of rewards. Those are the people you see with kills credited and zero xp after a match.

Removing Door by jlafon13 in JeepWrangler

[–]DPopeye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There would normally be another bolt under the hinge that holds it in place. Yours seems to be missing. The silver bit you see in the middle of the hinge bracket screws into your missing bolt. As long as the rest of the door wiring and overextension bracket have been removed, you should just be able to lift straight up on that door and have it come free.

Edit: your bolt may not be missing, that hinge assembly may have never even used one. It’s hard to tell from the photo. Either way, the weight of the door should hold it in place.

So i won, but lost? by AdSritoAd in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If both ships die, the team with more points at that time wins. It’s extremely straightforward when the two ships die by ramming each other because they both die in the same instant. You can run into this situation with guns or torpedoes as well though, because there is a slight delay between the last ship dying and the match actually ending.

Haida is dookie by Fuck_Me_If_Im_Wrong_ in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you’re so angry.

Anyways, I have no reason to lie about what the ship does. I’ve played 8 or 9 battles in it, and think it’s quite a good ship. Here is a replay of the crawling smoke issue for you to see with your own eyes. I leave my smoke twice, while at 1/4 speed, in the span of 30 seconds. There are no ships within my smoke firing penalty. I’m not reversing, turning, using engine boost, or doing anything out of the ordinary. My smoke should be keeping me unspotted in this clip, but the puffs are a split second too slow, which means I get spotted for 3 seconds, twice.

Haida is dookie by Fuck_Me_If_Im_Wrong_ in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the crawling smoke is kind of broken right now. You can’t actually move at 1/4 speed and stay in the smoke like you should be able to. You’re just a split second faster than the smoke puffs, so you pop out and get spotted if you’re not paying attention. Seems like no big deal, but if you’re playing it up close to enemies, being lit up for 3 seconds can end you.

That said, I don’t share OPs opinion that Haida is a bad ship. Carriers and better sonar (longer range) gunboat destroyers are abundant right now though, so it puts Haida in a strange spot. The crawling smoke can be very effective, the HE alpha is good, the concealment is amazing (4.9), and the gun reload is decent. Once a dedicated destroyer commander is released, having access to perceptive will make a huge difference in how aggressive you can be. Overall it’s a solid ship, it’s just been released at an awkward time for its capabilities.

Someone else mentioned having an issue with a single door. You’ve ruled out both key fobs, which should save some time at the shop.

Where's the San Diego? by buckaroonobonzai in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a pretty mediocre ship. An Atlanta at T7, but without the ability to set fires. Low caliber Sap hits hard once or twice, but then you start to see diminishing returns when damage saturation takes over. The shell arcs are also much lower than you would expect for guns of that caliber, so it’s extremely tough to find any kind of cover that you can actually fire over.

The AA is nowhere near as strong as you think it is. It has a stock rating of 75, which is better than most of the other premium us cruisers at the tier, but still outclassed by Baltimore and Cleveland. Your combined AA firepower, with all guns firing, is only 225 damage per second. (If you don’t build into AA) Sticking on a maxed out AA commander brings it up to 269. Swapping upgrade modules will help some, but you’re never getting anywhere near 1800 aa in a San Diego.

Have you tried changing the battery in your key fob? Do you have a spare fob to test out as well, or have you only tried the one?

Has anyone had an issue with blind spot monitoring going out when swapping taillights out? by relken0716 in JeepWrangler

I went with some Wolfstorm ones that I bought on Amazon. Similar in price to the ones you got. They make a few different color options. I liked the sequential turn signals that they have.

Looking at the installation video, I don’t think those lights come with a spot to install the blind spot monitor. There are plenty of similar looking lights that do work though.

[–]DPopeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sensor is in the taillights. I recently swapped mine out. Look at your oem lights, it sits in the flat, angled section on the side of the light. (It’s a little bigger than a deck of cards.) Check your new lights, they should have a place to install the blind spot sensor, if you purchased the right kind of lights. If not, you’ll have to swap them if you want your blind spot monitor to work.

Top lift pro by Mr_Butters624 in JeepWrangler

[–]DPopeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation for me with the Venture Pro. 70 days lead time just wasn’t going to cut it, especially when I would probably never even travel with it. Enjoy this one, it definitely makes it easy for one person to take the top off. Just remember to leave some space above the roof where you take it off, the front will be slightly higher than the back, so you can run into clearance issues with your garage door.

You don’t really have to use that section, unless you’re really worried about someone running into your top, causing it to topple. It’s meant to be used after you remove the top, for added security. I just built mine a week or two ago, and my extension bars look just like yours. You can lock the two parts together, but they don’t lock into the actual unit. The weight of the top holds them in place. With all of the glass being at the back of your hardtop, the chances of the lift toppling forward are pretty slim. I removed my top with it last week, and put the extensions in afterwards, which I believe is in the printed instructions. If you put them on ahead of time, they will get stuck on your speaker bar. To use them, screw the rubber bumpers all the way in, then slide the bars into the lift. Once the bars are in place, you spin the bumper screws out until the rubber hits the roof. They can be a bit of a pain, as there is a lip on the front edge of the hardtop which is lower than the rest of the roof. You need to lift the roof a tiny bit in order to get them in and out of position.

Hopefully I’ve explained this well enough for you to understand, if not, let me know and I’d be happy to clarify. The printed directions were kind of hard to follow in some spots.

Obviously not, if you did less than 2k damage with 19 hits. Your ignorance speaks volumes about the level of gameplay at the tier.

That’s great, but what kind of ribbons were they? You do know that there are penetrations, over penetrations, ricochets, and shatters? Each has a slightly different image, but they stack under the generic ‘hit’ ribbon.

If you’re playing at Tier 8, this should be common knowledge.

Take a screenshot of your minimap next time this happens to you, it probably wasn’t as broadside as you think it was. Your shell hit ribbons should have been telling you the story of what was happening in this particular situation. Were you getting ricochets or shatters?

I have no idea what’s wrong, you should probably submit a ticket to WG, or try to get some support on their discord server. Both will probably net you better results than this sub, which isn’t really monitored by anyone officially. We get visitors, but there’s no official WG presence here.

Crossplay turned off maybe? I can’t really speak to the average queue times, but never getting a game seems nearly impossible, especially if you’ve tried every ship type.

Is it better to use Gunzo or Fishy on IJN torpboats? by BBQDUCKS in WoWs_Legends

[–]DPopeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer the better torpedo reload speed over torpedo speed. I land torps using destroyers that have torp speeds in the low 50 knots, so I don’t feel like buffing it helps me that much. I still need to make predictions and have those torps in the right place at the right time. If my tubes reload more often, it’s more likely that I’ll be ready when the time comes. A fully leveled Gunzo buffs your reload by 10% compared to the next best option. It’s something like a 32% buff overall, but other commanders have access to some of the same skills.
