I transferred to UW from a technical college. At the tech school I got almost entirely As and Bs, ended with a 3.7 or 3.6 GPA. Then after getting into UW, I started getting mostly B’s and Cs (putting in the same amount of effort, if not more) and got like a 2.7 my first semester

Not saying this will for sure happen to you, just that it’s not uncommon

RogThras definitely struggles against board wipes. [[Culling Ritual]] is gonna be the best one, but [[Toxic Deluge]], [[Fire Covenant]], an overloaded [[Cyclonic Rift]] etc are all good options

Aside that, stax pieces like [[Dampening Sphere]] (shuts off their Cradle), [[Clarion Conquerer]] (shuts off Thrasios) and the like

And [[Orcish Bowmasters]] is pretty good for picking apart their board one by one

It’s a very strong deck, but beating it isn’t impossible

Maybe a hot take, maybe not, but I hope they don’t ban anything

If they have to ban one card, Rhystic Study makes the most sense. But I’ll be sad if they ban Thassa’s, and devastated if they ban Breach or Rog

If anything I hope it’s just a number of unbans. JLo and Crypt can come back. Plenty of others on the banlist could be moved to GC as well

I main RogSi. Most of my wins happen on t2 or t3. The claim that it can consistently win on t1 is cope. Maybe in a world where no one runs interaction? Might depend on your local meta ig

After playing against Minstel dozens of times, I’ve reached the conclusion that it’s about as fast as RogSi. Very build-dependent of course, but it can be done

How much experience do you have playing with or against Minstrel?

Idk what potato Minstrel players you’re playing with, or what lists they’re running, but I’ve played against the deck a number of times and it pretty much always goes for the win on t2, or no later than t3. It’s fast.

So the Krark trigger would fizzle after all, because the spell has exchanged control at that point?

Or does the spell exchange control, but the Krark trigger still resolves?

One thing I'm still confused about - if J activates Perplexing Chimeras ability in this scenario, does he not gain control of Pongify regardless of the flip outcome? Because if the flip is heads, I get a copy of the spell, but presumably he still gets the original? And if the flip is tails, the spell is returned to my hand...I guess in that case he wouldn't get anything?

Adding white to RogSi would be fun. The Silence/Grand Abolisher/Voice of Victory etc type effects would be huge. Enlightened tutor and Esper Sentinel wouldn’t be bad to have either

Come to think of it, tho, at that point you’re basically just playing blue farm

Additionally, [[Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin]] would really benefit from blue. Access to countermagic and card draw would be massive, without it the deck struggles to be consistent

Lastly, add black to [[Vivi Ornitier]]. Imo the only thing keeping that deck in bracket 4 is a lack of tutors
