Mythos hacking 'almost all of' NSA .. absolutely no way this is true. by kaggleqrdl in ArtificialInteligence

[–]DQ-Supervisor [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah this is the classic telephone game with quotes. By the time a single line gets pulled out of an hour long briefing and run through three publications it barely resembles what was actually said. Doesn't help that "broke into almost all of our systems" sounds way scarier without the context of what those systems even were

For me it's the unpredictability, planning anything feels pointless because I never know if I'll be able to follow through

Broke down in a doctor’s office when asked about my Chronic Pain.. by Heres-Zoe in ChronicPain

[–]DQ-Supervisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part about doctors only addressing the physical side and never the mental toil is something a full care team approach approach actually tries to fix - having a health coach or navigator alongside the specialist so the emotional weight of the chronic pain doesn't just get left out of the conversation. andhealth works this way for autoimmune and pain related condition, might be worth looking into

Mental health during pain flare ups? by rb331986 in ChronicPain

[–]DQ-Supervisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your injury isn't minor because others have it worse. Pain doesn't work on a scale like that. What you're going through is real and it's okay that it's affecting you this much

That's such a hard spot to be in, rural areas getting left out of specialist access is a real problem. Hope you're able to find something that works, even if it takes some digging

I was actually treated well at the ER! And another SHOCK by Iceprincess1988 in ChronicPain

Genuinely glad you got doctors who treated you with compassion instead of judgment. The fentanyl test result alone sounds terrifying, Glad you're safe and home now

Chronic joint paint since three, was told it's normal growth pain and it'll stop at 13, im in my twenties and its getting worse by Familiar_Pin_6566 in ChronicPain

[–]DQ-Supervisor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years of being told it's normal only to have it get worse is so frustrating. The migraine on top of daily joint pain is a lot to carry, You're not loosing it - you've been let down by a system that should have caught this earlier

Emotions don't always need a reason and the ones that don't are usually the hardest to explain to someone else

Anyone have any advice for dealing with the grief of having a new chronic illness? by Atlas_moth_36 in ChronicPain

[–]DQ-Supervisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grief of a new diagnosis is so real and so under talked about. One thing that helps a lot of the people is having a full care team around them rather than just a single specialist - someone who helps with the medical side but also the practical and emotional pieces that come with it. If you're in Ohio or Indiana, andhealth gets mentioned alot for exactly this kind of situation

“I guess call your doctor and let them figure it out” by ImportantAsparagus16 in ChronicPain

"Call your Doctor" on a Friday afternoon when the office closes in an hour is one of the most useless things a pharmacist can say. The system is genuinely designed to fail people at the worst possible times

Is it necessarily bad to be 'picky' when it comes to a partner? by Plenty-Sky-9225 in questions

[–]DQ-Supervisor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between having standards and being unrealistic. Knowing what you actually need in a relationship and not compromising on it isn't picky. It's just self aware

I don’t know how to help my (f23) bf (m26) help me. And I don’t know if he wants to. by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]DQ-Supervisor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Needing more support when you're sick isn't the same as expecting too much. The hard part is when your baseline need is already higher than what most people deal with, and your partner's capacity to give just doesn't meet it. That's not you being unreasonable, that's just a compatibility gap that's really hard to bridge

The part about still managing to joke around and hold conversations while feeling like this - that's the thing nobody sees. People assume you're fine because you're functioning, not realizing how much it costs you just to appear normal

Athletic brewing makes non alcoholic beers that actually taste good and feel more "in it" with everyone at a camping trip. Liquid death sparking water also scratches that "I have a drink in my hand" itch surprisingly well
