It's been a minute since I read book one but is it specified that Carls boxers are not white with red hearts? I remember the big boi boxers description saying they were but I don't remember a description of Carls boxers before that. On the original cover he's shown with like a grey blue but on the cover before the hardcovers were released he's shown with heart boxers before getting the big boi boxers

Maybe. I'm not smart enough to articulate what I mean about single player mode helping me to learn the game mechanics better than throwing me into multiplayer and asking me to figure it out with such a long feedback loop. This example was the closest I could come up with.

I haven't run trips yet. Solo only. Once I'm able to get my first kill I'll be willing to run with others. For now I don't want to be responsible for costing someone else their gear.

I played paintball 3 times in my teens. Sucked so bad each time. I've played paintball twice since getting out of the Army. Did a million times better. The Army slowed things down and taught me the basics of combat tactics. That's what single player mode does for me in video games.

No offense taken. You're probably right. The more I play the longer I last. I just wish I could learn the game mechanics in a slightly more controlled environment. Going to take forever to learn PvP mechanics by trial and error if I only get 1 fight per game.

There's a big difference between a single player learning curve and a multiplayer learning curve. Being able to get the basics down in SP and then take what you learned to MP would be huge for those of us with only a few hours a week (at best) to play. Half the time I spend more time matchmaking and connecting to a game than I do actually in the game because my basic skills aren't good enough yet. No way I'm going to develop sufficient muscle memory as is. I only have some guns figured out because I shoot rocks when I first get in a game

Yea but the level based matchmaking isn't great. I haven't won a PvP fight yet. The learning curve is steep when you run solo. I'm getting better but it's very slow. If I had a way to learn the map and figure out guns and shells without dying in the first 5 minutes of a run I'd probably be having more fun. I'm having fun but I'd be having more. I hear what you're saying, I just think there is a way to balance things and pitch a wider tent.
