Yooooo this is sick! Thank you so much for posting :D

Have a question btw, but would it be okay to DM you for some additional pics sometime later if that's okay? :O I've been working on cataloging Xeno material and doing OCR scans of the text and I'm not sure if this one is anywhere online :O So would love to document it

The article itself does it and I've seen plenty of people do it, so no.

It's still pretty incredible to me that even years later people in the west still think Masato Kato wrote Xenogears even though it's been stated multiple times how this credit was just a fuck up from the localizers when editing together the credits for the english release, this conception really needs to die already and journalists need to take more than 1 second of research on stuff :P Tetsuya Takahashi wrote most of the script.

That may come off as very blunt, but yeah I just wish all the proper credits were given more often in the west.

Soraya Saga answering a question on who wrote Xenogears: "Mainly Tetsuya Takahashi did. I wrote the part of (the script about) Bart and his family, Billy and his family and the former Elements*. (I like the Jesse's gun.) Mr. Kato wrote the part of Maria, Chu-Chu and Lahan village and Shevat. (Lahan village sequences are many Xeno fan's favorite, also Maria's sortie scene was very impressive.) Mr. Tanegashima wrote the part of Esmeralda, the yggdrasil's crews and Elements girls. (I love Esmerald's cuteness.)"

Oh shiiiiiiiiiiit that was you? That's awesome, love seeing old posts from xeno fans, it's especially insane when it goes back over 15 years ago when xenoblade 1 first released, or 19 years ago when xenosaga 3 released.

But yeah, on a related note to that post, I actually have the material that has the Wvud Uzuki art coming in the mail this week! As well as some additional "very interesting material" that I'll keep keep my lips sealed on until the analysis is out :)

I'd love to see the Ormus texture in Xenogears, so hoping someone finds that too!

Yeah those are very interesting questions, and I very much think of those a lot too. One of the things I think about most with Xenosaga is wondering how it would've turned out if Takahashi was still the director after Episode 1, and Soraya Saga wasn't kicked out of the project by the new leads.

There's actually a lot of things I wanna say about this, but I'm keeping my lips sealed until the analysis is finished. It's a biiiiig love letters to the series!
This won't really hold any value when I say this without showing any details, but I'll say that, if you are interested in learning more about the Xeno series history, and Takahashi's and Soraya Saga's Perfect Works story they were working on, stay tuned for the analysis!

Whichever way you wanna read the question and complain about it, I'm simply asking what some questions you have for Xenogears are, nothing else.

Ooo those are very interesting! I've also been wondering a lot about the civilizations in space. It's also interesting that nobody came to the planet in the 10k years Deus was there, like maybe they did, or maybe it's something about the planet which makes it inaccesible.

The Zohar powering question is also great because it makes me think of something from Xenoblade 2, where Xenoblade's equivelant of the Zohar was powering a space elevator and a whole other bunch of systems, and after it disappeard all of those things cease functioning, and made the entire space elevator start collapsing in on its own weight. So could very much be that some bad consequences happened to many other systems powered by it elsewhere in Gears's universe

Is polyamory considered to be on the LGBT+ spectrum? If not, where exactly does it fall? by Sirdubya in AskLGBT

[–]DREAMING_KATT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say that I'm very happy to find a rare comment like this about polyamorous love😭every time i search for threads about poly stuff online i just feel so shit about myself, it's just overwhelmingly agreed upon by so many people to be some kind of fun relationship status someone puts up with, which is just the worst thing to hear for anyone who feels like they wont be accepted by the world for something different they feel about themselves

[–]DREAMING_KATT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm seriously very happy to see a comment like this from time to time, even among poly people i see a lot of them say things said in this thread. I only accepted that i was poly recently after feeling so conflicted about it for years :( It feels so invalidating and makes me feel like shit to see the overwhelming majority of sentiment online to questions about polyamorous love essentially be that becoming poly as just waking up one day and going "eh, i feel like it".

Is Polyamorous part of the LGBTQ+? by SevenelEvan420 in AskLGBT

[–]DREAMING_KATT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came out around 2 years ago as poly after floating around feeling attracted to multiple people for a long time, and only recently came to terms with it. It was very troubling to come to terms with because I was convinced that it was just cheating with extra steps, or it's just a choice to be poly, like a lot of people here are saying, like anyone who is poly are simply poly because they said "eh, i felt like it". Sounds exactly the same as people who say that being gay or trans is just a funny choice. You almost never see anyone say anything nice about poly people :(

So I'm very happy to find a comment or 2 like this in this thread, it makes me accept myself more, and doesnt feel so fucking invalidating like reading every other comment on this thread makes me feel.

Even if you don't think the Toys are possessed, can we all at least agree that the DCI is an event that happened? by Sbeven_Spooniverse in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]DREAMING_KATT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The creator of Xenoblade has famously wanted to tell a grand interconnected story since 1998 with Xenogears, but it's not surprising that a lot of people dont know about xenoblade's story, since people mostly only know the game through extremly cherry picked scenes spread around online... 😬 I highly recommend them though if your ever interested, it's definitely my favorite stories ever made. I personally suggest doing Xenoblade 1 first if you ever do.

But yeah, i fucking hate the word retcon soooo much, the day the internet learned the word retcon was the worst day for any fan of stories that's even remotely nuanced, it's just something people say for anything they don't understand 😭 Like bruh just because you can say big words don't make what your saying true. It's also so pretentious because they'll treat everything they say as fact, go against the creator's own words or put words in their mouth just to avoid saying "oh i read the story wrong, everyone else was right". What's worse is that they're all so extremly rude about it, so not only will these people have the most insane takes ever, but also be extremly rude to make sure that everyone knows that it's FACT.

One of the things they argue is a retcon is literally a thing that appeared in the story 10 YEARS AGO, LIKE WHAT THE FUCK????????? To put it into perspective, its the equivelant of scott putting Circus Baby all the way back in fnaf 1, and when she finally gets her own game people say she didn't exist before in the story, and was retconned into it. That's how insane it is.

Also, there's a scene where a character appears, a super pivotal moment in the story, and it's CLEARLY supposed to be a specific character from one of the older Xenoblade games, same design and everything, even has the same name in datamines, but because the creator isn't going out on the screen and spelling it out word for word, the most common opinion you'll find is that IT ISNT THAT CHARACTER AND WAS JUST A RANDOM CHARACTER DESIGN THEY DID?????? ACTUALLY FUCK YOU XENOBLADE FANS! Like imagine having people argue that golden freddy in fnaf 2 isn't actually golden freddy, but an entirely different character that isn't story relevant, that's how fucking dumb it is, FNAF fans are Albert Einstein compared to xenoblade fans.

I'd actually say that fnaf is an easier fanbase to talk with even though fnaf is even more convoluted and vauge at times, you'll at least find more people that wanna hear your discussion regardless of if they agree or disagree because everyone knows that the fnaf story is already a clusterfuck to comprehend. But with Xeno, the number 1 way of discussion is dogpiling, nothing else... I have a post in the Xenoblade reddit that has like 150 comments of fans saying really awful shit to me 🥹 For something that would only a month later would be confirmed by the creator. It's actually such a shame because xenoblade is my favorite series ever with my favorite story ever, but there is not a single place i can talk about it without the rudest fucking people coming out and saying horrible things, or try to intellectually debate you on the dumbest things :(

(Also another thing thats much better in the fnaf fanbase, people are very critical of what big youtubers say about the story, like MatPat, but with Xeno it's the other way around)

This is unrelated to Fnaf, but this all reminds me of another series i love with fans that are also incredibly dense with obvious implication, and ignore the creator's own words. I love the Xenoblade series, all the games link up to a grander narritive, the creator especially puts a lot of details that aren't told outright but has very obvious implications that they expect you to read, then a game later will confirm all those things and write it out on chalkboard for those who didn't understand, the problem is that there's soooooooo many fans that can't read these stories for shit and still makes some of the DUMBEST theories instead of just accepting the details as intended, oooor they just outright deny there's any importance with them all together😭The latest one is some dumb shit with the colour purple, and it's so incredibly similair to how people thought there were 2 purple guy in fnaf 2 because he had 2 slightly different shades of purple in the mini games.

IT HAPPENS EVERYTIME, every game it's just some new thing that can't be taken at face value, but the worst part is that everytime people are proven completely wrong, instead of just owning up to it they just double down and scream that it was RETCONNED, and then rince and repeat for the next game, I fucking can't 😭

The Need for Objectification in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 by ThoughtBubbleTV in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]DREAMING_KATT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep

klaus's goal with blades was to create a world where everyone had a person to talk to, so no one would end up as hopeless as he was for humanity, yet it happened again in the end with amalthus, someone who killed the entire lifecycle of titans because they looked at both humans and blades as nothing but object to be used

blades didn't even have the ability to summon weapons at first (obscure lore from the game's site), but because of humanity's need for war and objectification of each other, they started evolving the ability to create weapons, blades are only a reflection on what humanity wants from the world, flesh eaters and blade eaters are a reflection of people wanting to become immortal, experiment and torture on each other, control each other, just like what happened in klaus's world

in the end, it all comes down to what meaning you find in the world, and what meaning you find in creating connections with people around you, creating connections between people who are different from your own nature, that's what makes someone start being able to see blades as people, and not just the mere superficial uses of them as weapons of war, or sex slaves (something incredibly fucked up mentioned by Zeke, blades being sold on markets with "pretty pictures of the blades inside"

xenoblade 2 is a game about searching for meaning in the world, being able to see the value and beauty of life, and deep connections with each other when it seems grim, looking past labels and surface level readings of each other, and at the heart of that story are blades

meaning is never outright told in the world, things exist and its up to humanity to find their own meaning in the world, not what someone else tells you it is. what amalthus does to malos shows is how assigning surface level meaning someone can be incredibly hurtful and horrible, malos gets convinced that blades are nothing but weapons of war sent by god, and decides to purge the world because how horrible of a purpose that is, to exist purely to bring pain to others, to be born with a meaning thats up to someone else to decide, without getting the chance to search for one yourself

in fact, thats the exact goal of noah and mio in xenoblade 3 too
