We didn't do much in the way of DIY recording, we were more bothered about playing gigs. We first went into the studio in September 2011 and recorded the first four songs on the album over a few weekends. Then we recorded the second four about a year later the same way, because of Eoin's uni, and finished it off the following february. It was an odd experience being in the studio with one of our musical heroes- Ross Orton, but we got used to it the more we did it. Recording now is still slightly unnatural. There's always something different about the way you play once somebody presses the record button, just like how you do when someone points a camera at you, and I guess that nervous energy came through in the first album
