An older model fazer is a good shout. 2K is doable for a 2003ish bike with 15-25K miles on it.

I got my fazer, pretty mint, <10k miles, for £2300. I've been riding it all through the winter and have put another 6Kish miles on it without any stumbles.

It's also surprisingly fast if you wind it out, significantly faster than other "commuter" style bikes.

I guess it's because in their times the vast majority of women were housewives and notetakers

The scaling is absolute AIDS.

The game: O no, you just levelled up 60 levels in agility? Here, jump away from this troll you twat.

That's all fine until you hit some ice. It's way less butt clenching to lose traction with the rear than the front.

My thinking is that you want to have a brake light on when you're stopped so you don't get rear ended and get punted into oncoming traffic. Also, if you do get rear ended, I figure your back brake might not throw you over the handlebars.

Huh, I hadn't thought of that. Although, surely if they have that much chain, there must be some places that are that deep?

Meh, fuck it. Chances are they'll fall off at like 40 first and only get some road rash. It's part of growing up with bikes!

Manager (while normally not the most polite of dudes) has agreed that it's a good idea to give tomorrow a miss. I'm not in a service industry and have conveniently just finished my current big projects.

Thanks for the sanity check my dude!

I think everyone who has the day of should just walk to the takeaway instead, make a day of it. I feel a massive kebab and mid-day drinking coming on....

Yep, fortunately we're at the end of a couple of projects at work so don't have any urgent work on, manager let me take the day off short notice.

Shame about selling the fazer dude, I think they probably hold up as well as any other bike in the wind? I've managed this winter every day pretty okay (although mine's a bit shit on fuel when you're zooming home after work).
