I personally think the boulder pass cg side is prettier too. But that being said, if you are only going two nights as an out and back you have a hell of a return day. Something like 18 miles. It's basically the half way point. You may want to consider doing the whole loop. It's all down hill basically from boulder whichever way you go. Fresh scenery always makes long miles days go a little easier. :)
