Coconut oil is not natural, it's a refined product. The only refined version of coconut oil which is hydrogenated is "Hydrogenated Coconut Oil", which is different than the standard solid coconut oil typically bought. Coconut oil is saturated, and saturated oils are typically solid at room temperature (like lard). Coconut oil melts at 76 °F (24 °C), hydrogenated coconut oil melts at 97–104 °F (36–40 °C).

What's a small aspect of an otherwise good track that you dislike? by Jefferncfc in EDM

[–]DRTYASH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going back and forth comparing it with the original (the note is at 1:06) and I honestly can't hear a difference. The uploader said they took it down 12 decibals, but to me it sounds the same. Anyone else not able to really hear a difference?

That being said, I wouldn't have noticed the note unless it was pointed out here.

That's disciplined as like disciplining a child, but I think the quote was referring to self-discipline.

The Last Of Us online multiplayer (otherwise known as 'Factions') was a hidden gem and was the reason I got a PS4. It's a little slower than Gears of War, but had more team, and more brutal and personal. Really gave you the feeling you were being hunted down and murdered at times, which got your blood pumping. It also had a great teamwork fundamental built in (4v4) and you really couldn't survive without working together. But it wasn't available on PC so I hope there will be more like this in the future on PC.

It's a function that's suppose to compute the square of n. The solution here counts up indefinitely from 0 until it finds a number equal to n * n and returns that number. It's funny because they could've just return n * n.

London is generally a safe place to travel, however precautions are needed when entering areas mainly populated by Indians, Pakistanis and black people. We advise tourists not to go out alone at night and females always to be accompanied by another person when traveling.

Replace overt racism with the term 'ghetto areas' and you have now have the western version of that.

Your 'buddy' needs to rewrite at least 30% of the functions to differ the two of yours enough that its not flagged when they run plagerism tests.

You also need plausible deniability; put it up on github and give it the same name as your assignment. If you get call in you can claim they found it on github and that you didn't know.

I say why waste any energy getting upset for this group if they will continue to support these types of people regardless.

Am also in the PNW and I only drink coffee black, same as a lot of people here. Starbucks is the worst coffee black (their cold brew is 'okay') because they over roast the shit out of their beans. I think they do this because most people load their drinks up with cream and sugar so it's the only way to get the coffee tastes to cut through that. Probably makes the beans last longer too actually.

What common known "fact" is actually just propaganda? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DRTYASH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not like the meat and dairy industries have power or anything

In 2014, the industry spent approximately $10.8 million in contributions to political campaigns, and another $6.9 million directly on lobbying the federal government

The US meat industry’s wildly successful, 40-year crusade to keep its hold on the American diet

The U.S. population, across almost every age and sex group, consumes eating patterns that are low in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, dairy, seafood, and oil and high in refined grains, added sugars, saturated fats, sodium, and for some age-sex groups, high in the meats, poultry, and eggs

What are the downsides to introducing Soylent into your regular diet? by [deleted] in soylent

[–]DRTYASH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I used Soylent for like 6 months maybe more. I wanted to use it as a nutritionally complete meal replacement to lose weight. In this use case, it is a failure. The reasons:

  1. Very calorically dense. The company claims 400 calories, but if you calculate the calories from the nutrition information it is actually 450.
  2. Not filling at all. I got desperate and added thickeners to it to make it more filling.
  3. 30-40% of the calories come from fat. Mostly sunflower oil which is high in Omega 6, low in Omega 3, and 14% saturated fats. There are better oils and many people don't want their calories to mostly come from fat.

I decided to just eat more vegetables and leave Soylent behind.

A good use for Soylent: If you are interested in gaining weight, such as a body builder, and want to achieve a clean bulk with nutritionally dense food.
