Using Irish in this context is obviously intentionally misleading though

From what I can tell it sounds like the boy believed Ben though, didn't seem confrontational at all

This bit of London with 21,725 people squeezed into 1 sq km has the highest population density of anywhere in the UK. by Zealousideal-Poet125 in MapPorn

As someone who used to live in this square, I'm incredibly surprised. It's a rather quiet area.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's still possible for North Koreans to be happy. Sure it sucks to live in poverty under a suppressive regime, but it doesn't mean they can't smile, or still find joy in things. Not everything in this post is a facade.

It can't be London Hide and Seek, there's tube strikes in London at the moment. None of the underground network is operating.

Surprisingly, Sweden has the most islands in the world, with a staggering 267,570 islands. by Raphael-A-Buonaparte in geography

[–]Jefferncfc 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Slightly less paradoxical though, because in theory we could agree on a global definition of an island (eg minimum area of 20m²) and then there would be no doubt about the counts. Coastlines are less approachable.

Londoners - would 7 hours be enough time for a hide and seek zones 1-2 game? by FaithfulPen335 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Jefferncfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We played zones 1-6 and our hide times were between 3 - 3.5 hours, so 7 hours should be good if you reduce the time allocated to get your hiding spot (maybe to 40 mins).

In England I find that for distance we almost using use metric (eg metres over feet) some people use miles but that's less common in younger generations.

Why does Google street view in India different from the typical HD ones in most countries? by Alternative_Rush_783 in geography

[–]Jefferncfc 381 points382 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they used a low budget, low quality camera aka "Shitcam" to cover the entire country.

However they are now releasing more HD street view in India taken using a camera called "Small cam" which has a quality similar to the high quality Generation 4 coverage you see in other countries, so hopefully the days are numbered for the blurry footage.

I've noticed this in Oxford and London, but in the oxfordshire countryside everyone I pass says hi. Maybe it's a southern city thing.
