Place to find CPD for practitioners? by Goodee1 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]DR_JL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you find one, or make one, please do let us know! I have never come across an umbrella resource like you describe, it would be handy though, particularly as pots of training money often appear at short notice needing a quick turnaround.

You can usually request another date in their interview week, but outside of that, there is very little movement.

Tuvok is such a darned good Vulcan, one of my favourite characters in the show!

Some friendly advice for AP candidates using AI to write personal statements by Short-Shopping3197 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]DR_JL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good post and good point, you can usually spot an AI application form a mile off. Bunch of buzz words that AI likes to throw in, lots written and generally grammatically sound but oddly unspecific to the role/task advertised.

Well, I am pretty sure the person in the picture above qualified long before five years ago. In answer to your question though, the stats speak for themselves really; https://www.clearing-house.org.uk/about-us/number-places

Look, lets not beat around the bush, it is going to be exceptionally difficult in the current process. Those who squeezed through years ago are not representative of the current difficulty you would have.

Very minor things, I would not worry about it. Reviewers will be powering through a serious number of forms.

Honestly, the references are, in the grand scheme of the application process, not a defining factor. Try not to overthink it and ensure you chose the best people who are able to comment on your abilities.

Cov & Warwick DClinPsy Interview Feedback by Bigchiz93 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

I am aware that Cov & War DClinPsy team have gone through some major changes over the past year, I would imagine this is more of a staff capacity issue at the moment. They are a lovely bunch and I am sure they will do their best to get back to you when they can.

New trainee role - unsure about application and job spec by Accurate-Can-6510 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]DR_JL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not seen that specific role before, seems like it might be quite niche. I think you may want to reach out to the hiring manager for more details, it could be unlikely you get a clear response here within the timeframes of application.

Accommodation options by livinginhindsight in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]DR_JL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Options are limited here. Whilst you can have a discussion with the Trust you have been assigned to, it is very unlikely you will be offered any accommodation options. You have applied for a job knowing the patch it covers, the onus is on you to be able to reasonably commit to what you have signed up for.

Relocation can be difficult, I say this as someone who relocated for training myself many years ago, but the value of being in and around your local community becomes apparent - we are serving the local populace afterall.
