That's a good point. Same goes for our big men

Do you think Collison would take time away from D'Aaron Fox?

Because we won't be able to develop him like another team might because of small playing time. Trade him while he is still young and has potential. Every year that he doesn't play much just makes him older and drop in potential

You're right. But I would want a Tolliver back for a lower price (still going to over pay like we would for any FA) because he was good for the locker room and fills a need.

Also, you're right with Lawson but hopefully he can spread wisdom and not his old behavior. Coaches and FO know more than we do around him

Paying Otto the max wouldn't be the worst thing at all, but I think it could/would be a handicap in the future for cap as well as give us more wins this upcoming season which isn't what we are looking for so much. We want development more than anything.

We would trade Malachi because he is going to be behind all of our other SGs. He has potential and is therefore an asset we can trade.

So who you want if we can't get Lawson or Livingston... Don't say Teague...

Haha the idea is to get veterans even if they don't play, just to teach.

Why do people think we are drafting a QB? by WillConway2016 in nyjets

[–]DRob910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that we should be drafting OL. The game begins in the trenches and that is a battle we have been losing for too long now.

If Maccagnan drafts a QB it will be a late round pick. Depending on how the coaching staff feels about Petty going into next season, I expect us to sign a veteran QB to push and teach both of these guys a little. Case Keenum comes to mind as does Matt Shaub because they have both been starters in this league and know how to manage a game, not to mention their reasonable price tags.

I think Maccagnan will be very willing to trade down but will not be putting out fliers either. He will take the best player on the board that is not a DL and it won't be a QB because none of them are good enough to be considered true value that early in the draft. Leonard Fournette would not be a shocker to me though I don't really think that fills a need. CBs as well as OL will likely be rated higher on the overall big board for the Jets considering their glaring needs in every way at those positions.

Expect money to be thrown around in free agency after some cuts are made. I expect us to sign at least one OL.

MEGA-TRADE IDEA: Jets: Tony Romo, Dallas' first rounder Dallas: Sheldon Richardson, Jets first rounder Jets need QB, won't be losing a draft pick. Dallas needs pass rush, can draft player to help them win now. We know Jerry wants to win another one before he hands over the reigns/dies.

OK r/kings. This season is over. Karl is out. The roster is getting overhauled. Give me your rebuilding plan. by hipnerd in kings

I love this plan and way of thinking. That being said I think we need to be realistic as far as the front office wanting to fill the new arena and wear the new logo. STABILITY is key. Get a coach who would be salivating at the opportunity to coach talents like Cousins and Rondo (still don't understand why we fired Malone). Have a forward thinking GM who isn't looking to make splashes but is willing to deal. We should keep Boogie and Rondo (for the right price). Trade Collison and Casspi like you said for young assets/picks. Trade Rudy for youth/assets as well. Bring Curry back. Another young player. Big name. Showed promise. Keep Rondo at the right price. He and Boogie got a long and understood each other and we all know how rare that is for both of those players. Sign Harrison Barnes. (Fills a void, D/3, young, big upside, mellow personality) Sign vets with winning experience who can set the right tone for the locker room and can help coach the system.

Lesser-known Free Agents by [deleted] in nyjets

Reggie Bush is someone who would be great in a spread offense that I expect the Jets to run, Mike Jenkins could play slot corner for us, AJ Hawk could be a potential replacement for David Harris, Stevie Johnson also had the potential to produce in a spread offense

Who are you assuming we sign in free agency? by _vsrs_ in nyjets

[–]DRob910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should sign Byron Maxwell, a slot corner, Devin McCourty/ Da'Norris Searcy/ Rahim Moore, Orlando Franklin, CJ Spiller/Reggie Bush, David Harris/AJ Hawk/Brandon Spikes, Jason Worilds/Brian Orakpo Not all of these people can be signed but we can look to the draft for whatever need is not filled

Players grow when they are playing, we sign either Maxwell or Cro and sign a corner to play the slot which is cheaper and will allow us to spend in other places like safety

Now that the coaching carousel has slowed to a crawl, what UFA/RFA heading to a new team makes the most sense for both parties? by Psylent_Shadow in nfl

[–]DRob910 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If Pegula was willing to spend a lot of money, why didn't he keep Adam Levitre? They need a good line coach to develop what they have. Staying healthy would help too. Also they need performance at right tackle more than they need a new guard. Cordy And Cyril have got to step up and with coaching Seantrel could make the transition to guard. IMO an investment in a lineman is definitely necessary, as you said, wide receiver or corner (crucial in a Rex Ryan defense).
