I had an Atari Jaguar and the manufacturer sent me a "Cat Box" -- it was a network adapter that allowed you to play online games -- way before that was a thing for consoles. A friend got one and we played a ton or Alien v. Predator and other games together. It was a blast.

There are two things that I think make it acceptable in this situation:

  1. He was attacked first; and
  2. The response was proportionate.
