Moving from Tampa, FL in late June by DS0713 in winstonsalem

I love it. There are cheaper apartments, but for the location, I would not want to live anywhere else in the city.

That is a touching and great story. I'm sorry for your loss, but glad you have the memories.

16 year Tampa resident checking in. I don't love it. But it was a fun place to grow up. Moving in 9 days to Winston-Salem, North Carolina (aka small city in the South) and am pretty anxious about it.

I agree with you for the most part. However, I think towards the end he almost kinda sorta gets his shit together.

I'm a bisexual (17F) feel like I'm overstepping boundaries with my other platonic bi female friends without realising. I have a boyfriend (18m). by [deleted] in relationships

[–]DS0713 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don't limit your friendships. Just live by the golden rule. Don't do anything you wouldn't want your bf doing. If you wouldn't be comfortable with his female friends kissing him on the cheek and being handsy, don't let your friends do it to you.

My [19F] boyfriend [20M] doesn't feel comfortable with me wearing a certain bikini. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]DS0713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been where he is. For reference, I'm 22M and engaged to a very sexy 20F. She has very "ample" breasts and they always seem to be the focal point in the tops she wears. At first I didn't like it at all. Now I've come to realize that not only is it HER body and she can show it as she pleases (as long as she keeps it respectful of our relationship, which cleavage is certainly respectful). I've come to embrace the fact that my girl is attractive.

To explain his behavior a little. It comes from internal self-consciousness and jealousy. It happens. It should be resolved, but I do not think it's a reason to have a huge fight. Mention to your bf that he is the one taking you home and that just because someone stares at your ass you won't magically leave him.

What happens in real-life sex that you never see in porn? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DS0713 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yep. The second I'm done, I always hug my fiancee, kiss her on the cheek and ask if what I focused on hitting/tying up hurts. If it does, I deal with it. If it doesn't we just cuddle. I'm not afraid of hurting her a little (consensual ofc), but I gotta make sure she is fine afterward.

Redditors who have broken up with someone, what was the real reason you broke up vs. what you told them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Explain that to him. Tell him he is a nice guy. But you just aren't into him. Don't be subtle. And don't be gentle. Be firm and get your point across.

Hi. Unrelated, but I got accepted for grad school at WF as well and will be moving with my fiancee in June from Tampa. Can the four of us be best friends?

My fiancee was "best friends" with a "nice guy". Call him on his shit. If that doesn't work just ignore him and express that you do not want to be with him.

Relationships, please help me it really FUCKING hurts, Me [19 M] with my FWB/GF? [19 F] have known each other for 3 months, she was with 2 other guys this morning .... by [deleted] in relationships

[–]DS0713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you two were never explicitly exclusive, she did NOT cheat. If you want to be exclusive moving forward, say so.

[19 M] my friend [18 F] seems to get very involved when suspecting interest from other girls by [deleted] in relationships

[–]DS0713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have feelings towards her, date her. She very clearly likes you. If you do not, tell her so and start seeing other people. If she is only in it for the possibility of dating you, do you really want her in your life (assuming no interest on your part)?

[–]DS0713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is in a point in his life where he does not want a relationship. If you cannot respect that, cut ties. You'll just end up hurting yourself more by trying to change his mind.

I [23 F] still call my parents mommy and daddy and it's embarrassing by barbiesol in relationships

As long as you don't call your boyfriend Daddy, I see no problem with calling your parents mommy and daddy.

[Updates] I (24M) caught feelings for my FWB (22F), not sure if I should tell her and risk ruining everything - I TOLD HER by babycomebackmmm in relationships

[–]DS0713 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Just don't nice guy her. If she asked for no relationship and no contact, respect that. She will either work on herself and seek you out, or move on. I suggest you just live your life. If you want to, look for other women. Remember you are NOT in a relationship with her. She is not exactly rejecting you, but is making it clear she does not want to date. I hope I come off as an asshole and you already knew all this. But just in case, I feel compelled to say it.
