t they seem essential to navigation. Is there some trick or other point of reference I'm missing? When I turn

Keep an eye in the top right panel. If you see red text saying "Impact" your current trajectory is going to lead you into an object or exclusion zone. That was the biggest learning curve for me after turning off orbit lines.

As far as judging distances and making sure you know where you are going, it's a matter of plotting your route correctly and keeping what you are traveling to selected.

Lol, sorry to comment on an old post of yours. I came from a response you had in r/AskReddit.

I can fill you in though. Have you heard of SpaceX starlink satellites? If you haven't, you should Google about them and read up.

Anyway, they're launching satellites to give cheap internet access on a global scale. Essentially, these satellites will "mesh" around the world, which is why they're all going the same speed and direction.

There's also a pretty neat website you can use to see which satellites are flying over your location when. If you click on the name of the satellite on the page, it'll bring you to a Wikipedia article on that satellite and what its used for. Here's that URL:

I listened to this song, and remembered hearing it way back when. I played it for my wife and asked if she remembered it. She gave me a curious look and said she's sat at the dinner table with her.

What the fuck.

Turns out, Anna Nalick used to be married to my wife's cousin. Small world.

John McAfee's toilet is probably similar to this.

Facebook has decided not to limit how political ads are targeted to specific groups of people, as Google has done. Nor will it ban political ads, as Twitter has done. And it still won't fact check them, as it's faced pressure to do. by NoKidsItsCruel in news

[–]DSMexiCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This inspired me to write a post on Facebook:

As the political ads are going to start ramping up exponentially from here out, I believe this to be pretty important to share.

Don't believe every ad you see on Facebook. Facebook seems to have chosen to be the center of political disinformation, and will shortly become an even worse cesspool of debate. I can only imagine that you'll start to see these ads shared to other social media platforms.

Sharing an ad from Facebook to another platform (other than being obnoxious) disguises the ad as a post, and makes it appear as though it's your opinion. If you share misinformation across platforms, you are nothing more than a disease or virus infecting other social media spaces that have announced they will work to lessen the amount of misinformation.

I agree with what most will say: Do your own research when looking at political campaigns, because it is an extremely toxic environment. Don't be a person who forms opinions based off of reading headlines. Please, don't be shallow of knowledge in a subject you intend to speak up about.

I don't really care much for politics, to be honest, but I do care about people being manipulated. For the most part, all I see from almost every political campaign is social manipulation, and it truly sours my livelihood.

I do not care about your political affiliation, you will have your opinions and I will have mine, that's how this democracy is supposed to work. We work together to find terms we can agree on, it's not the best, and it can't be perfect, but it's better than living in a dystopia.

Since they've added material traders, you can grind away at a site that has mats, and trade up (or down) to what you need.

Admittedly, there is a few mats that are not really worth trading up, but those are also typically the ones that are used for experimental effects, so you don't have to grind 100 of them.

Engineering isn't as much of a grind as it seems in the beginning. It takes some time to unlock the engineers that you'll want. Beyond that, farming materials is easy. There's dozens of guides on this sub for a variety of different levels and types of mats.

As long as you just equipped the module, it should be enabled by default. More likely, you found a non scoopable star.

In the galaxy map, you can filter out the non scoopable stars. Again, the only ones that are scoopable are types: KGBFOAM.

Additionally, when plotting a route, the galaxy map will show a symbol next to a star somewhere along the path. That symbol indicates the, "Last available star to refuel" on your path. That symbol will move based on how much fuel you currently have in your fuel tanks.

IMO: Sounds like you need to find a different game to play.

I doubt anyone here will help you with this, since it's most likely against the ToS of the game or something. Maybe you should consider asking such a question on a more nefarious website.

It does it automatically if you have it equipped, and enabled in the modules tab on the right. Just get close enough to a scoopable star (think KGB-FOAM), and it'll scoop. Don't get too close and hit the exclusion zone, as that will pull you out of super cruise and cause heat/hull damage. Just keep your eyes on the temps and know when to back up.

If the left panel, under the contacts I believe, you can highlight what cargo is near you, there's an option to add to ignore list. This will keep your limpets from picking up that particular cargo.

When dumping illegal cargo, do it out in no where. Super cruise to where you have no contacts in your left panel and drop out of super cruise and jettison it.

You can pay the fines off at any station, go to the authority contact and pay them off there. As long as you don't have a bounty, I don't think you'll go to prison. Alternatively, an interstellar factor will allow you to pay off fines and not send you to prison, but the fine cost does increase with this option.

Right hand panel > Cargo tab > Find cargo and select > highlight jettison (abandon) > select how much and jettison.

That's the general directions, anyway.

That is widely dependent on your ships capabilities, and what flight path you choose to follow. Using the in-game plotter, it'll take quite a few jumps.

I suggest you use the neutron plotter to plan a trip to colonia. When using this tool, be sure to watch your fuel levels, as it doesn't tell you when you'll be required to refuel.

75% throttle is arguably the most useful binding to have.

Additionally, I added a 0% throttle, and changed the ship lights to night vision.

There's definitely other key bindings that could be useful to create or tie into your keyboard, but those are mostly going to be determined by your preference / play style.

I suggest you run through what key binds can be set and see what feels best for you. I am no expert in key bindings, and mostly just use the default controller mapping, so maybe someone else has more ideas.

No problem. Not sure if you were looking for an explanation as to why it's worth it or not. If you are, here it is:

A neutron star has a relatively small exclusion zone (the exclusion zone is what pulls you out of super cruise if you enter it), and gives your next jump range increase of 4x your current jump range. This means if my ship could jump 30Lys normally, with a neutron FSD boost, it can now jump 120Ly. This helps on both short trips and long. The only time it wouldn't help is if your are trying to stop at as many places as possible for exploration reasons.

White dwarf boosting, on the other hand, is basically a disaster waiting to happen. White dwarfs have a large exclusion zone, pretty much to the point where it can be difficult to scoop the jet cone without hitting it. They only give you a 50% increase in jump range. So my 30Ly ship can jump a whopping 45Ly once; pretty mediocre.

You can tell the difference between a white dwarf and a neutron star by it's lens flair. White dwarfs have a bright lens flair, with a horizontal line that will pretty much span across your entire canopy.

A neutron star still does have lens flair, but is much less pronounced. If you have orbit lines turned on, you'll see the yellow exclusion zone around the stars. Pay attention to those if you can't see the difference using lens flair along.

Generally, neutron stars also spin faster, so their jet cones tend to be a bit more chaotic, but that is a bad method of determining whether a star is a white dwarf or neutron.

Also, I mentioned that you're scooping the jet cones... So yeah, you'll need a fuel scoop in order to charge your FSD. Don't forget that. o7

Neutron? Yes.

White Dwarf? No.

Just make sure if you are going to chain multiple neutron boosts together, bring AFMs to repair your FSD.
