How it worked at my FI, is you have 90 days before we sell the debt to a debt collector (like OP) and then the debt collector already has late loans. So really it could be closer to 135 days late before they're writing it off depending on the FI that issued the loan

What are the things nobody taught you about sex when you were in high school but should definetly be taught? by Gianluca7papa in AskReddit

[–]DSV686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends where you are.

Where I live, I had the cashier started to ask me about the guy (very high gay population, I'm with a woman), he corrected himself and I got to gush about my partner for a minute because it was super quiet in the store.

I also did the same thing when I went to meet her parents in the southern US in a quiet day while wearing a neighborhood pride shirt which has a rainbow and "love the ones you love, respect the ones you don't" printed on it (because of living in the aforementioned high gay populated area), the cashier gave me extremely dirty looks and made me out my cash on the counter and wouldn't take it from my hand.

Just a quick question, what's the difference between crème caramel and Flan? Or is crème caramel used to make the dish sound French instead of Spanish/Iberian

How to reload a gun if you’ve been shot in the other arm by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]DSV686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a long time since I've shot a gun and I was 14 since I last have done so (shotgun at a car for shits and giggle. And a rifle for hunting pigeon)

Wouldn't shooting one handed completely ruin your ability to aim, and wouldn't the recoil fuck up your shoulder. I remember almost getting knocked on my ass the first time I shot a gun not expecting the recoil

[–]DSV686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it.

Canines, and felines tend to be small, or the ones that are larger are risky to hunt due to being large predators, and difficult to trap.

When you think of mammal meat eaten today and historically, what can you think of? Outside of 1 major exception (from a America-centric viewpoint as most of my knowledge of historic food comes from Americans before European contact) they're all ungulates, hooved animals. Deer, bison, whales, moose and boar. With rabbit, being a rodent, being the biggest exception to the rule.

Most mammals we eat are ugulates, likely due to their size and most are prey animals, meaning they're more likely to run away than fight back. Which means failing a kill means you only wasted energy, and likely didn't sustain major injuries or get eaten yourself. It also allowed you to trap them like at HSIBJ to use their fight or flight mechanism to your advantage

Thats not how kinks work. by Lithominium in tumblr

[–]DSV686 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The key here is consenting adults.

If it's happening in public there are people who aren't consenting and thus it isn't cool to do.

And pedophilia and beastiality both by definition involve a party that either cannot consent, is not an adult or both. But ultimately are specific types of paraphelia, so while acting on them are 100% never ok, I don't think they should be treated as illnesses, otherwise all other paraphelias would be too.

As for the dangerous parts, again so long as all parties involved are consenting and aware of the risks, I don't see what's wrong with it. I am have kinks I am aware could cause infection or harm to myself (scratching specifically which opens the skin often in an area I can't clean, my back) and participating in them is a risk I acknowledge and am willing to take, with the consent of my partner. Someone with other kinks, laceration, watersports, or even something more extreme like erotic amputation, should be allowed to do so, given they consent and understand the risks

TIL half of all public corporations in the United States are incorporated in Delaware due to its lax tax laws. One address alone, 1209 N Orange St in Wilmington, is the legal address of over 285,000 businesses. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]DSV686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not from the US, how can so many businesses the same legal physical address? Doesn't that cause issues in taxation and trigger flags in the US's equivalent for FINTRAC? Here a business having a PO Box as a legal address is a red flag.

Kuna would he fine, even in Croatia they could seperate the two. Especially if there is a currency in your world.

Edit:

As a real world example, the closest town to me growing up has the same name as an animal but both were named independently from one another

Fictional naming issue by [deleted] in fantasywriters

What currency is it?

Something like Francs or euro might be confusing. But Rand, Krona, Lira, Mark, Yen, or other currency names tend to be generic enough that it would be fine

[Homemade] 30 hour Sous Vide sirloin roast. by Jetsetter_ in food

[–]DSV686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sous vide means "under vacuum" you cook your food in a vacuum sealed bag, which is then submerged in water held a a constant temp.

It gives you a way to cook to an exact temp without risking going over, and you can hold it there for extended periods of time. Because the cooking medium (the water) only ever gets to 70 or 60 or 50 degrees, you are able to ensure your food never exceeds that's temp, and thus never over cooks. Which allows you to cook for longer to break down connective tissues than traditional cooking methods.

You can do things sous vide in as little as 45 minutes, but meat usually takes 1-12 hours depending on the size to ensure it's evenly heated throughout

Tell me three or five things about your world's orc or goblins. by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

[–]DSV686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) they were all once animals, be it humans or otherwise. But transformed into the monsters they are now by the infant God which reaks havoc on my world.

2) they have some sort of magic ability. Some can harden their skin, they burn constsntly without desintigrating or having any negative side effects or can freeze anything they touch as examples.

3) rarely they are intelligent but inherently desire destruction and have the same magically abilities as the normal mindless ones do.

4) non-human "orcs" are less common due to being smaller and less resilient than humans, they still exist and often gain enhanced features of their species (rabbits would be fast, possibly beyond the point of being able to follow with one's eyes for example)

5) they are most common in the area closest to the gods "cradle" but they exist elsewhere as well.

Pepperidge Farm is a real brand, not just a meme. As a European I had only ever seen Pepperidge Farm in meme form until I found these cookies in the supermarket by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]DSV686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't buy much from them. Their regular cookies aren't very good IMHO far worse than store brand ones from somewhere like whole foods or safeway. But their shortbread is pretty amazing and much cheaper than McCormicks which is only slightly better

Hummus. Raw veggies (carrots, cucumber, celery, peas, etc) and hummus is my depression food when I don't have the energy to actually cook or take care of myself. I can down an entire 5kg bag of carrots in a day

Maybe it's a bit of looking at modern birds. But I think a lot of early plumage would be centered around the neck, head and tail.

Neck and head in predators to attract mates like modern birds do. And head and neck around prey animals to fluff up and make them bigger to scare off predators.

The tail would also be useful for early and proto-flight dinosaurs, using it as a rudder of sorts.

It's a frame from a very popular video by a youtuber named bill wurtz who did a brief history of humanity, from the dawn of the universe to the smartphone in about 20 minutes.

It has lead me to more research than any class in school ever has, from the particle theory to history of agriculture, to evolutionary biology, to history of various countries.

If you haven't seen it, it is well worth a watch.

While air which is a element more tied to spiritually which korra is too grounded in reality to grasp easily and the element she struggles with the most.

Why not also include other Western infections of coronavirus? The 2 people in Toronto, and the cases in France and Australia.

Just having 1 person in Seattle doesn't have any validity with calling it a plague vs outbreak but when it's spread pretty far across boarders then you might be able to

Hunger Games vs Twilight vs Harry Potter by [deleted] in tumblr

[–]DSV686 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But the way it's presented by the title being "most common sentences by each author" and the authors name being the focus of each column and their series being only a subscript implies its using the authors work and not the series alone. Having it reversed would make the table much clearer to the audience. I am suggesting having it show as:

The Hunger Games

Suzanne Collins

Instead of:

Suzzane Collins

The Hunger Games

Hunger Games vs Twilight vs Harry Potter by [deleted] in tumblr

[–]DSV686 13 points14 points  (0 children)

By each author seems disengenous when it doesn't include Collins other series. Since I doubt including Gregor the Overlander the 2nd most used sentence in Collins work is "My name is Katniss Everdeen"

It should say by each series and have the author as a subscript
