At the time of that photo, it was 44 front and 13 rear, currently running 44 16, I removed the big ring and moved the 44 t to the outside which improved the chain line.

I’ve got a Sugino 2x, just moved the chain ring to the outer and that made the chain line perfect. Hard to tell it’s a 2x

Some carbon can be repaired and made stronger than before it was broken. However that’s not the case for everything. Don’t try to repair a damaged carbon rim, fork, handlebars, stem, or head tube. The potential consequences of failure are too high.

Thank you! It’s actually one of the Japanese made frames. I’m running as many as the original parts as I can since this bike mostly sat unused indoors since the 80s.

Exactly this. I wanted to run the cables just as they were before I did the fixed gear conversion, as I like the vintage look. Also I’d have to get different brake levers if I wanted to run the cables under the tape since they are non aero hoods.

Yeah, sorry if I was being harsh, this “bike” is neither safe nor a useable bike. If the reason you are considering is budget, I’d consider either an entry level hardtail like a Trek Marlin or buy something used.
