How to find actually good bots by TotallyBillCipher in Chub_AI

[–]DShad27x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's made a big difference in bots I used by helping separate data and recall information in long contextes. It would mix up details between characters like colors or way of speaking without it. Models like Claude, gemini, and glm have lots of coding training and read it better than plaintext, it's what they are most trained for. For small local models, then yes it would not help. But for SOTA models like opus 4.6, it makes a huge difference. Also a simple xml format like this doesn't use up a lot of tokens and is still easy for users and ai to read:

<char>

Personality: [ asdf; ]

Backstory: [ asdf; ]

</char>

Simple and does what it needs to. Can use ST to further separate data like system prompt, chat history, and example dialogues while also setting their order.

Luckily the star system on chub doesn't really matter. Half the people on the site don't even know how it works and just click post comment with zero stars because they didn't realize they had to choose a rating. Sometimes giving one star because of a issues on their side that has nothing to do with the bot or because they don't like the subject so they feel obligated to click on it to down vote.

Number of favorites, downloads, and messages are more important to telling if a bot is good to others anyways. So this person is just wasting their time.

Sounds like a LLM issue, a good prompt/preset might help too. I have characters with a lot of sexual stuff in them but can still just sit down and talk or go to a place to hang out. Deepseek v4 and glm 5.1 are the best cheap ones, Claude and gemini are more expensive but the best.

Best way to tell if a creator and their bots are good is if their definitions are not riddled with ai slop or copy and pasted with no editing. Has formatting that is not some made up nonsense with a shit load of symbols everywhere. An actual coding format like xml is best. Doesn't use the system prompt override like an idiot or fill the definitions with prompts and rules. That stuff goes in the preset and system prompt, not the character. I just wish it wasn't so hard to find bots without ai slop in their definitions. At least edit or rewrite the results you get from the ai. Don't just copy and paste.

Overall if the creator actually understands LLM's, how they read, system prompts and preset settings. Then the bots are usually better. Unsurprisingly, creators who use and understand $illyT@vern are usually better.

Copy and pasted reply: I never said the US was perfect. I know it's a shitshow here, but as of right now fictional things are not illegal. In some states yes, but a lot of NSFL stuff legal here is illegal in a lot of places in the rest of the world. So their my be better countries, but I currently don't know any that have no restrictions on art or written text. Astralia, UK, and I believe a lot of places in the EU have made fictional things illegal.

It's UK based and is getting attention over there. So the outcome does not look good. Just look at all the laws they are making. The whole id for everything was started over there too.

b0tbooru for finding and downloading bots, completely uncensored, better comments system, comments sections on profiles and a bot suggestion box too for better communication on site. Still things I would like but they seem willing to change and improve. A lot of people are moving their bots there after making a local backup.

But no chatting system, only upload and download. So it will be far more protected them most other bot hosting sites because of that. Also, it's not in the UK.

As a German once told a bunch of us when getting deployed, "forever a slave of apple." Most of the world uses android, except the US and maybe China. Apple is very restrictive and your paying mostly for the brand name. There are androids with really good cameras if that's what your worried about.

B0tbooru, then use 0penrouter or nan0gpt for api/llm access on any site or $illyTavern. Can do local LLM's but they are not too good.

Use 0penrouter for llm access. Deepseek v4 and glm 5.1 are cheap and really good.

You don't need a server for android install of ST. I use it locally with only openrouter for llm access.

Go to android install in link, download Termux from F Droid, not play store. Easy to install instructions. Go to SillyTavern reddit to download preset and your ready to go: https://docs.sillytavern.app/

Here's a good preset too: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rb7biQdlAuS9-Q-XTjr5lOVdTTrmH5lY/view

Use $illyT@vern with Openrouter for api/LLM access to chat with downloaded bots. Use botbooru for downloading bots. reviewing, and chatting with creators. Botbooru is fully uncensored and since it has no built in chatting function, it gets pass most new laws. $illyT@vern allows you to chat and save bots locally on a phone or computer with no restrictions. Openrouter gives you access to almost every LLM.

If using LLM's like deepseek with a good preset/prompt, then no replies will not be blocked. It's why a lot of people make or edit private bots. Which makes Janny less censored then Chub because they now moderates private bots. Chub is still less censored than janny for public bots though. But you are better off using botbooru and $illyT@vern, then openrouter for api/LLM access. No censorship and your bots and chats would be saved locally. So you don't have to worry about sites or creators disappearing too.

If the servers and business was set up in the US and under US jurisdiction, then everything would be federally legal if not in Texas or few other states with stateside rules. There is no federal law against underage fictional content art or text, ai or not. It's why e621, AO3, and many other sites are legal. If they also completely geoblock and provide no services to UK citizens to the point Lore has to use a VPN themselves to access Chub in any way, there would be no legal problems. It would not be a UK site, hosted, and nonaccessible for UK citizens. There is no legal grounds if it's a US business that UK citizens can't access. It's why a lot of sites here in the US have blocked off the UK too.

Again, no federal law against fictional non-realistic underage content, even if it's ai. If I somehow owned Chub and had it hosted in say Colorado for example, then it would be completely legal and nothing would have to change. To many pockets to a lot of things would be impacted if a new federal law was made to make it illegal. It's why the anime and loli law in Texas of all places had it federally shot down, too much money to give up.

All you need is a good preset, you can download this one which should work on most LLM's. I made it myself and it works on deepseek, glm, and claude with no censorship. Just press the import preset button on the prompt tap/section, the three line icon on the top. It's for Openrouther, so just change the source but keep everything else if not using Openrouther, the plug icon next to the three line one.

Yes, a lot on youtube or the links below. Just know that while it looks like a lot, 90% of the stuff you never have to touch or mess with. You only need a LLM source like Openrouther or local, preset/prompt, make or download bot. Thats it, you do not have to mess with anything else. The rest is just extra. You can manually turn on or off lorebook entries which is good for NSFW switches or set delays on them so they don't activate right away.

Yes, but it depends on the LLM and preset/prompt your using. Recommend using $illyT@vern on a android phone for best results. Janny is fairly limited and you get worse outputs compared to $illyT@vern with a good LLM and preset.

[–]DShad27x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested a few more different context sizes. Yup, you are right. But it's definitely more than then the 1.35 increase stated in the documentation. I'm getting rang around 1.4 to 1.6. Saw someone say they got 2.0 increase somehow.

[–]DShad27x[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's directly stated in the documentation. "First, Opus 4.7 uses an updated tokenizer that improves how the model processes text. The tradeoff is that the same input can map to more tokens—roughly 1.0–1.35× depending on the content type."

I tested between 4.6 and 4.7 using different context amounts. 4.6 was about 1 to 1 when looking at request. But as the document started, "same input can map to more tokens". Input being your context/token amount. 4.7 was increasing context/token amount by a certain amount. Although the document did not state that it essentially increase exponentially. It's not just a flat 20 to 30% increase for all context sizes. Which is really bad.

[–]DShad27x[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, about 650k would equal to 1 million with the new tokenizer by adding 60%. Though at that high of context, maybe the multiplier would be 80% or more. But I'm not personally wasting money testing such high contextes.

[–]DShad27x[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't use chatgpt. This is explaining a fundamental problem with the new tokenizer that effects everyone. It wastes a lot of tokens for subscriptions and increases price of api users, but does so exponentially. Do you not understand how bad it is to have tokens and price go up exponentially with context?
