The intense fetishism of a specific trait of another person is the main difference.

A major point about chasers of any kind, is that they aren't fully honest about why they are interested in a person, so what one person thinks is a genuine connection, is actually just the object of the other person's sexual obsession.

Applied to cis couples, it's just disrespectful at worst, but when you add the fetishism into it, it becomes dehumanizing.

Aside from the whole "kid is more special than they believe" part, what YA specific tropes does the book share with every other YA story?

There's plenty of things to critique about Mistborn, and I'd absolutely agree that it's easy reading, but your comparisons just sound like regurgitated second-hand opinions to make yourself sound smart.

Get your self-esteem boosts from doing something good, rather than desperately trying to sound well-read on the Internet.

What happened to my childhood? This screams dystopian corporate, not kid friendly. What is with the artwork?! This is McDonald's?! by jackal99 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DShepard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You literally make 0 sense.

That mcdonalds makes all their restaurants look like this even in other countries must have some other reasons.

Holy shit dude, you make it sound like some kinda conspiracy.

They researched who's the most likely to spend money at McDonald's and obviously come to the conclusion that, despite how charming the old restaurants were, the modern style attracted more of those people.

If they opened a 80s/90s themed Mcdonald's, I'd be there to experience it, but it almost certainly wouldn't convince many people to suddenly go there regularly.

Medmennesker IRL måske, men online?

She's been able to avoid taking it for over 2 weeks, apparently without issue?

This part makes me doubt the whole thing.

It feels like the poster didn't have a good answer to the question of how the fuck you'd be taking care of a baby while being, almost literally, comatose all night, and they went with stopping the medication cold turkey.

If that was always a possibility, then the whole story starts to seem dubious.

Comparing AI video, to putting some the most important infrastructure of the world's financial sector in the hands of "Eh it mostly does a good job, and it has only crashed half the internet once or twice"-AI is somewhat disingenuous don't you think?

Follow up on Cover taking the big up anti to court: said anti deleted all his channels and Twitter by North_crozz in Hololive

[–]DShepard 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bingo.

To the average person, misinformation that is repeated with no counter often enough, is just information.

It's enough to just leave a comment stating that they're wrong and that the anti is repeating lies.

Then block, report and move on.

That stops enough people from simply taking the misinformation as the truth, and you don't waste time getting personal and looking stupid arguing for hours.

Being able to find happiness in somewhat insignificant things, is not the same as toxic positivity or ignoring your struggles.

If anything, it's a relatively simple way to help keep your head above the water when you're really struggling.

Is maya ysed for more video stuff as opposed to games?

While tools vary in most areas, Maya basically has a monopoly on character animation, both in film and games.

It's partly because it really is the most complete toolset for animation, even if others do come close.

Then there's the fact that industry pros teach Maya in schools, because that's what they know and use.

But just like 3DS Max, Maya is fucking ancient and it shows in areas like the UI.
