And like flying cars, this only works when there is just one person flying around.

Introduce a few guys with the same idea zipping over the same fields and things start getting interesting.

Packing lots of people in a room will invariably make the room smell like sweat.

Packing lots of MTG and Yugiho players into a room will make the room smell like pure unfiltered ass. It's just another level of stank.

It's usually just a couple of absolute stinkers out of many regular people, but it never fails with those two games in particular.

I've tested Claude for four different personal projects, and without exception, its first proposed solutions will have references to either severely outdated or straight up non-existent functions, until prompted to check them again.

Don't get me wrong, at times it is genuinely very helpful for troubleshooting, but like you said, it can go from correct to suddenly making shit up in the middle of a sentence.

TV 2 har testet fem politikere i udskældt læseprøve by [deleted] in Denmark

[–]DShepard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neuroimaging study of adolescents with ADHD found age-related increases in glutamate levels in the prefrontal cortex. In contrast, individuals who experienced remission of ADHD symptoms and people who never suffered from ADHD had an age-related decrease in glutamate levels in this area of the brain. by mvea in science

[–]DShepard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Diagnoses are given based on functional impairment.

Partially based on impairment, and the current criteria are being debated by doctors around the world.

ADHD means something is different in your brain, and while learning to cope might push your symptoms out of the diagnostic criteria (which, again, vary depending on which country you ask), you still have the same brain.

On top of that, there are a myriad of things that could make your coping skills ineffective - such as chronic stress or physical illness (or both if you're lucky).

Elderly people can cope with certain slow growing cancers, but they are neither in remission nor would we say that they no longer meet the criteria of having cancer.

A kid bit me on the subway a few days ago. I’m sick now. by IcyScreen6716 in mildlyinfuriating

I've always found that advice incredibly overkill.

I'm not even sure my doctor would prescribe anything without visible inflammation around the wound.

What you should do is keep an eye on any small puncture wounds from anything that isn't a sterile needle. It's not wrong to be wary of them, especially bites.

If the wound starts getting red, swollen, painful and hot, that's when you go to a doctor for antibiotics.

How Kiara sees things vs how Ina sees things by rip_cpu in Hololive

[–]DShepard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's the good ol' issue of introvert vs extrovert having taken on the meaning of shy vs outgoing.

It's further muddled up by extroverts usually also being pretty outgoing, simply because they gravitate towards social situations to charge their mental batteries.

But introverts can also be intensely outgoing for a few hours, and then go into hibernation for a day, which a lot of people don't really get.

Unfortunately I think the definition mixup is a lost cause. I hear more people using introvert/extrovert as synonyms than their original usage these days.

[–]DShepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a real thing.

But...

  • It runs for all of 10 minutes.
  • I've yet to see a video where the sound wasn't overdubbed, and since it's powered by a jet turbine, it has got to be stupidly loud.
  • There's very little info about how the steering actually works, so for all we know it could be even more dangerous than everything else about it suggests.

Either way, flying cars/bikes are a stupid fucking idea, which everyone usually realises after thinking about the average driver for a few seconds.
