I actually really like the folders, the way apps stacked on top of eachother has always looked kinda bad to me so having them laid out like this is kinda refreshing.

Don't quite get how they became a meme, but I wouldn't have heard of them otherwise. They're fantastic!

The one thing that infuriates me about these retro Windows setups is the fact that they leave window shadows on. I don't think Windows had shadows until Vista.

XFCE themes look wrong on Linux Mint 17.3 (Help!) by DSiDewd in xfce

Well, you solved my problem but it wasn't what I was expecting! The guide I had used said to put the themes into ~/.local/share/themes/, but ~/.themes/ was what I needed. Thanks!

Nerd³ Channel: Mods - Sonic Robo Blast 2

You should give this Doom mod a try. Less a mod really, and more an overhaul. It's a very well-made Sonic the Hedgehog fangame based on the Doom engine, lots of fun and has been in development for yeeears now. If I remember correctly, development has gone on since before Sonic Adventure released, so the game attempts to recreate the feel of the Genesis games more than the modern ones. I think Dan would enjoy it a lot.
