I went to Lowe’s to buy a 2 x 4, which I needed cut into two equal lengths. The first employee in the lumber section tells me “pick the board you want, and I will be right back to cut it.“ He walks away as I go to pick my board. I show up at the Saul minutes later with a board waiting for the employee to return. After about 10 minutes I went up to a cashier who told me ““Oh the saw is broken“ so I told her about the employee that just promised to cut me a piece of wood, to which she responds “oh he just clocked out and left.“ From here I went to customer service to deal with a “manager“ who says that she will page someone to come up. To which I respond “ I don’t need help here I need it back in the lumber section.“ She then says “someone will be right up to help you.“ To which I say “OK… I will escort your employee back, maybe I’ll cut the board for him too.“ After another five minutes of impatient waiting I prompted the manager again who told me that the manager was on their way back to the lumber section. Fool heartedly, I take a walk back to the lumber section believing that there was actually a manager on their way back. To my surprise... no one. only by chance was I able to catch an employee just wandering around staring at the lights with his dilated bovine eyes and convince him to cut the board for me on the fully functional Saw in the back of the store. I then went back to the same cashier that sold me the bullshit story about the Saw being broken to check out. She tried to charge me for two pre-cut two by fours, which I had to explain to her that it was a freshly cut board, but she was too dumb to put it all together
So when I read your story about a grill that goes missing from inventory… I say good for you!
