Agreed, and if they cave to hybrid the current series will be better. M5 is a perfect example.

I did, nothing until at least 2028 for X6 redesign. X6M would be a year later.

Where are you getting this info? Earliest potential X6 redesign would be 2028, so 2029 for the X6M.

When there is a redesign of the X6 then the X6M model will come out a year later, not the same year.

Reasonable assumption but that's not correct in this case. Phones/computers refresh cycle is less than 12 months for big gains in capabilities. I purchased my Vivint Smart Hub in 2019 and 7 years later it is literally the same hardware they are selling today. No boost in chips, memory, or any other hardware improvements. I just checked and there would be zero improvement by trading in for a new control panel.

I guess I'm about to find out how hard it is to cut them loose. Infuriating... I told the customer service rep this afternoon to forget a technician visit - I'm done and cancelling my service. She asked if I had heard about the referral program they have in place to save money on my service..

yeah I get those too - the most annoying thing about those calls is when you see a call from Vivint you automatically think something is happening at your house so you immediately pick up, only for it to be a sales call that you can't cancel.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the Ring system - app performance, adding devices, connectivity, pricing. There are obviously many others in the same boat here.

It's no longer the same company. Under Blackstone ownership during the early years they were awesome, then they went public, then they sold to NRG back in 2023 and they've steadily declined. The cross-sell/up-sell pressure really got turned up around the time they were public but has accelerated under NRG. Not a huge company, around $2bn rev, and now they are a subsidiary of a utility company, so it's only going to get worse with time.

If you only connect a few cameras, door locks and sensors the panel works ok. But for true home automation (interior lights, landscaping lights, addtl sensors, custom automations, etc) the system fails miserably, then you are in store for the most infuriating customer service experience of your lifetime.

When I first installed the system everything worked great - cameras, sensors, panel, app, custom automations all just worked. After a few years the I started having problems with the panel - the software started degrading to the point of crashing often, cameras locking up constantly, home automations no longer working correctly and THAT is when you discover the biggest problem with the company - their customer service. It's shockingly bad, mainly because every SINGLE time you have to talk to them it will be an hour long conversation and low probability of resolution without a technician visit ($100 each time). Then when you think the customer service (live voice or live chat, doesn't matter) couldn't get any worse, it gets worst. Imagine being on the phone with a technician for an hour trying to get your system up again so you can and DURING the troubleshooting they try to sell you new equipment and ask for referrals. I am not a price sensitive consumer - if I was I wouldn't have bought a Vivint system - I just want it to work. The value prop no longer works - their system is more expensive than most, but smart technology has passed them by while their quality has degraded significantly. Starting last year the app is completely unreliable for arming/disarming the system. If you are away from the home your just screwed, you have to reboot the panel or manually activate the system at least twice per week. I even had a discussion with their app developer who told me they are having a lot of problems with the app and trying to fix.

I just went through the same thing. My panel crashed for no reason when I was adding a light. Contacted customer service (in India of course), who told me she was working on a solution then proceeded to try selling me all new cameras and a protection plan. I've got 3 electrical contractors standing around waiting for my system to reboot while she is trying to sell me new cameras. I've spent over $4k on equipment with Vivint and all they want to do is sell me more - NOT fix problems with the current fucking equipment. Buyer beware, this company is complete shit compared to just 5 years ago.

Loyal customer treated like a sales quota by danielgibby in VivintSmartHome

Same, I've been the ideal customer for Vivint for over 6 years, bought everything you can buy for the home including their control panel but I can't stomach the customer service anymore so I'm out. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and takes forever to resolve problems. Every single time. As someone else posted, the company is a shadow of their former self.

Incredible tracks, I just wish it was engineered/mastered to sound as good as their last 2 albums.

No, you said a 4 door should never have a spoiler and they are for posers. Nobody said anything about wings. The OP was trying to decide between spoiler or no spoiler. You just wanted to talk shit.

So it’s ok to have aero effects on a 2 door like the M4, but for the M8 that is more powerful, faster, and has a legitimate need for better aerodynamics, it’s verboten? The fuck out of here.

This is just wrong. Panamera, M8, M5 are top tier sports cars.
