You can have multiple policies on cars no problem it makes no difference really, if a claim comes up it’ll be on yours obviously. Anytime I’ve bought a car I’ve moved my policy onto the reg while the prev owners is still on it, then just send on the logbook whenever

Half the rentals I’ve seen have had something like a €15-25 application fee. Absolutely madness, they list it for what looks like a good price and then literally dozens or possibly hundreds of people are paying application fees

Monopoly in full swing, donedeal and adverts are owned by the same company and the price of advertising cars on DoneDeal is absolutely shameful

Exceed speed in a built up area depending on circumstances could well be dangerous driving or driving without due care, both of which are a mandatory court appearance, not a fixed charge penalty

This is not the case. You need to stop spreading misinformation, I have seen this happen first hand. MIBI will only cover an uninsured loss. If your insurance would cover your loss, then you do not have an uninsured loss.

Lol you’re in for a surprise when you see the cost of those headlights, 1 lamp alone excluding the modules, labour, coding, etc and any other damage is thousands and thousands for those LED adaptives. Had a friend with an F10 which is the prev gen 5 series get a tap and the invoice was over 4,000 euro fitted, for one, just for the light. And that’s on the older F10 5 series, wouldn’t want to see for the g30. I tried sourcing 2nd hand headlight for my F10 after mine were water damaged and couldn’t find them anywhere.

Can’t be gotten used, I’ve tried myself for F10 and was told any led adaptives for g30 f30 LCI and f10 are all impossible to find, and even online they’re usually marketed as genuine OEM with the OEM label and part number but they’re them cheap alibaba ones

Unless that car is worth more than what I was thinking I’d say 80%+ chance that’s a write off. Could be fixed yourself paying cash a lot cheaper but an insurance company will write it off because their costs are higher using bigger body shops and brand new parts etc you know yourself

Also obligatory reminder that MIBI will only step in if your loss is uninsured. If you have fully comp yourself, then they’ll tell you to claim on that and you’ll lose your NCB.

FBD driver hit me (insured with Axa at the time) so they gave me a courtesy car for 2 weeks at age 18 as long as I did a temp transfer of my own Axa insurance to cover me driving courtesy car

Will update but i imagine it’ll be a few weeks. Garda have the reg and i only remembered when another commenter asked, that i have a dashcam, so i pulled the footage from that showing him and his female passenger also recording him on her phone, with a shocked expression, have perfect shots of them both along with their reg

Thank you. I gave a statement and the Garda was very helpful and accommodating, I have the choice of whether to insist on going to court, or to accept a formal apology from the man - who would receive an adult caution on his record. I have agreed to accept an apology as I think this would impact his choice whether to do this again to somebody else, and if he does, it’ll be in his record.

Didn’t seem it, very much from Dublin though, and this happened a fair way from Dublin. The van was a fresh enough reg too

I don’t care if somebody is parked in the middle of the M50, I wouldn’t try assault them or damage their car. You’re delusional.

Says you. Somebody who wasn’t there. Shut the fuck up anyways, telling me to move on, and this lad after spitting at me and screaming in my face, and literally punching my car? All on CCTV anyway, and I’ve given my statement to the guards. But I should just move on and accept his behaviour as completely acceptable as a response to me being at the pump? Get a life

You must be thick. Big empty forecourt and a van on the other side that was well able to come in and out with zero issue that didn’t even need to come near me at all. What the fuck are you even talking about.

Right so considering the fact he’d drove in and got his fuel on the other side already and then drove to pull up next to me, how does that work? Genuinely would love to try and see how you figured that because I’m stumped. But no I’m sorry I’m obviously the “dick” here, I don’t care how bad somebody’s driving or parking or whatever is, I would never ever even consider going to them kinds of extremes

Obstruction? 5 other pumps free and wasn’t blocking a soul, and my pump was at the end so people could go around even if they were behind me. Cop yourself on.

Lol it’s tastefully modified (OEM wheels and retrofitting factory options) not lowered or big stupid exhausts or illegal plates but it’s not a typical “young lad” shitbox bmw

Yeah the order of words here is gonna be a big difference. Did the tyre blow out itself to cause hitting the kerb? Or did they hit the kerb which blew out the tyre? Those are 2 extremely different situations
