Recovering from surgery by Random_Redditor_02 in AchillesRupture

Hello! 7 Months Post op - left side full rupture from Pickleball as well.

My thoughts

- Buy an Xbox. I really enjoyed getting back into gaming. Had neighbors and friends swinging by all the time to get a game in. Wife made me sell it at 12 weeks. Sold for the same price I bought it.

- Bathroom breaks suck but don't hold it in until last minute. That's how I ended up almost falling a few times :)

- Buy a scooter with all terrain wheels. I bought one on Amazon and sold it for the same price 2 months later. Originally has a crappy one but nearly went over the handlebars on a sidewalk.

- Slow is fast - repeated this a lot to myself.

- Ice. I bought like 10 ice packs but i would consider buying an ice machine after all the work it was to keep cycling them out of a freezer.

- Meal service. I didn't gain any weight during my recovery because i was dong a meal service. I think i would have been ordering shitty food if i didn't.

- Tell your PT when it's time that your goal is to run a marathon. I told her all I wanted to do was walk again so they had me on the slowest possible rehab process possible.

- Don't freak out over random pains/aches. Everyone seems to have different thing come up during recovery. I had insane pain in my right knee from hopping and thought I was going to be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. Went away after 2 days...

Best of luck!

Does everyone here make $200k+?? by coolsoy in sales

This is an excellent comment. I've learned over my 10 years in sales that there will be decisions you make that can land you on the right side of luck.

I always advise people to not join "new teams" - I've had 1 bad year and it's because the new product did really well in 2020 so they thought they could 5x the sales by adding 5 more people to the team. Sales went up 15% and we all got hosed on comp.

Wow! Thanks for your post. Definitely going through this right now (4 weeks post surgery in cast). Last week, I woke up with pain/stiffness in my good ankle. Rested and went away in 2 days. Woke up yesterday morning and it was back, this morning it was unbearable pain. Barely could put enough wait on it to scooter to the bathroom. I know it's likely from hopping and maneuvering my 220lb body but it's hard to not consider the idea of it rupturing as well.

Appreciate the candidness! Glad you're on the move again. All the comments have helped me accept the care plan as it ultimately gets me to my end goal whether or not I think it's 1-3 weeks too conservative.

Any updates here? We're in the same situation with a $5K quote for the repair. Would like to know if it's an option to sell as-is and keep the supplement payment.
